    MET HORRIBLE DEATH AT KITCHENER

    Alex. George Instantly Killed When He Suicides Under Wheels of Radial Car.

    DESPONDENT AND OUT OF WORK

    A Kitchener youth. Alex. George, aged 18 years, met a horrible death when he deliberately flung himself across the tracks in front of a fast-moving Grand River Railway car at 11 o'clock of Thursday morning. He met instant death, his body being severed in the middle.

    On Wednesday the lad, who has been out of work all winter, got a dollar from his father and went to Galt where he thought he could secure a job with a farmer. The police there, it is alleged. picked him up as he appeared ill. The next morning after telling the police he was subject to epileptic fits, he was put on the radial car for Kitchener. It was the same car on its return that killed him.

    Conductor Thompson said he remembered George returning on the car and talked with him. He got off at the Kitchener Junction, took a street car as far as South Street. From there he alighted and walked through the fields until the return of the Galt radial, when he apparently made up his mind to commit suicide. A father, one brother and two sisters survive. An inquest was held on Tuesday evening.
