    Notes:

GINGRICH, Rebecca (Becky) Lynne Passed away peacefully at Brantford General Hospital from cancer on April 15, 2016, at the age of 74. She was born December 4, 1941 in Kitchener, Ontario, to Wilfrid and Edna Lauber, and was the oldest of 5 siblings. She was only 14 when her father passed, and she went to work at a nearby tobacco farm to help support her family.

Becky graduated as a nurse from K-W Hospital in 1962, and worked there for many years. Becky lived in a variety of places during her lifetime, including on a houseboat off the Hawaiian Islands; in Prince Rupert, BC; then took up sheep farming in the Okotoks area of Alberta; returning to Ontario in 2000, to live in Princeton.

Becky enjoyed farming, gardening, baking, reading, making crafts, and politics. She fought passionately for political causes she believed in and refused to compromise her ideals, discussing them until nearly the end. She had a soft spot for animals, leaving food out for numerous stray cats in her area, babysitting lambs, taking in and healing injured animals (even a chipmunk!) and always keeping the bird feeders in her front yard full.

Becky is predeceased by her parents Wilfrid and Edna, as well as her son Andrew. She is survived by her daughters Lisa (Keith), Dagny, and Abby (Ken); her sons Jon and Peter (Ken); grandchildren Gwen, Patrick, and Ilyana; and her siblings Heather (Don), Lyn (Linda), Penny (Keith), and Jocy; her many nieces and nephews; her former husband Emerson Gingrich, as well as numerous beloved friends and neighbours across Canada. Becky is also survived by her special friend, Stephen Lendman.

The family wishes to thank the nurses from St. Elizabeth, especially Kim, whose excellent care allowed Becky to remain in her home for as long as possible. We also want to thank the doctors and nurses at Brantford General Hospital, for providing exemplary palliative care during her final days. Those wishing to make a donation are asked to consider St. Elizabeth, or the Brantford hospital. As she requested, cremation has taken place, and a celebration of her life is planned for a later date. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Glendinning Funeral Home , Plattsville, ON. Personal condolences can be sent at www.gffh.ca
