She was an energetic and enthusiastic woman with tremendous style. She possessed a deep love and knowledge of antiques which were in varying degrees shared with and acquiesced to by John throughout their travels together. As a young woman, she opened the mezzanine Women's Clothing area at Kabel's The English Shop in Downtown Kitchener which she managed until her marriage following the Second World War. In 1974, she founded Duke's Antiques which she owned and operated with her daughter, Cathy, until 2008. She loved a game of bridge with friends and family time at home and at the cottage in Port Elgin. Our family thanks Dr. Norm Bodkin for his wonderful care of our parents and all the medical staff we dealt with over the last few weeks at St. Mary's Hospital and Freeport Hospital for their excellent and compassionate care of our mother.
