HARTMAN SCHNARR

The death took place at Erbsville on Wednesday, Nov. 15th, of Hartman Schnarr, another of the pioneer residents of Waterloo County, in his 82nd year. His passing came as a shock to his many friends, as he had been enjoying excellent health until recently. There survive his wife, four sons and four daughters, two grandchildren and four great grandchildren. The funeral which took place on Saturday afternoon was largely attended. Service was held at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church at Erbsville, after which interment was made in the Erbsville cemetery.

Hartman Schnarr

Hartman Schnarr one of the best known residents of the county passed away at his home near Erbsville yesterday at the age of 81 years. The deceased had been ailing only a short time and his death will be learned. with regret by a large circle of friends. To mourn his death there are left the sorrowing widow, four sons and four daughters. There are also twenty two grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

The funeral will take place on Saturday afternon at 2 o'clock from the residence on Erbsville road. to 81. Paul's Lutheran church, Erbsville for service and the Erbsville cemetery for interment.

A resident of Waterloo for 16 years, John Schnarr, died at his home. 114 Union street east. Waterloo. Tuesday afternoon. He had been ill for about three years. Born in Erbsville. Mr. Schnarr was in his 73rd year.

Surviving are his wife, three sons, Henry of Clifford. John and Jacob of Waterloo. four daughters, Mrs. George Venton and Mrs. H. Bauer. Waterloo, Mrs. Norman McLeod and Mrs. T. J. Miller, Clifford, one brother, George Schnarr, Windsor, and two sisters, Mrs. Theodore Derbecker, Erbsville. and Mrs. John Kummer. Grimsby, also 33 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

The funeral will be held today (Friday) at 2.30 from the residence. to Redeemer Lutheran church, Waterloo, for service at 3 o'clock. Interment will take place in Waterloo Mount Hope cemetery. Rev. K. A. Kriesel will conduct the services.

HERMAN S. SCHNARR

After an illness of three months, Herman S. Schnarr passed away on Monday at his home, 476 Wendell Avenue. Mr. Schnarr, in his 60th year, was married to Angeline Leffler in September, 1896. He was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church.

His wife and four sons and three daughters, Amaey Schnarr, city, Walter, Waterloo, George, city, Nelson at home, Mrs. W. Bellknap, Detroit, Mrs. Clifford Know, city, Mrs. James Osborne, Port Huron, survive with 15 grandchildren, two brothers, John Schnarr, Waterloo, George Schnarr, Essex City, and two sisters, Mrs. Theo. Derbecker, Erbsville, and Mrs. John Kummer, Beamsville. Two children predeceased him.

The funeral will be held on Thursday afternoon from his late residence on Wendell Avenue at 2 o'clock. Burial will be made in Erbsville Cemetery. Rev. J. Schmieder of St. Matthew's Church will officiate.

George S. Schnarr, 84, of 291 Ellen St. West, died today. in K-W Hospital after an illness of two months.

A native of Erbsville, he had lived in Waterloo most of his life. For the past five years he had lived with his daughter, Mrs. Hugh Miehm.

Mr. Schnarr was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Wat- erloo. His wife, the former Mary Meier, died in 1952:
Resides his daughter, he is sur- vived by a sister, Mrs. Emma Kummer, Hamilton, two grand- children and two great-grand- children: A son, Clarence, died in 1953.

The body is at the Edward R. Good Funeral Home. Waterloo, where a service will be conduct- ed at 2 p.m. Thursday by Rev. C. S. Roberts. Burial, will be in Waterloo Mount Hope Cemetery.

MRS. THEODORE DOERBECKER

Mrs Theodore Doerbecker of Erbsville died suddenly at noon yesterday, due to a paralytic stroke. Mrs. Doerbecker was born in Erbsville, the daughter of the late Jacob and Susannah Schnarr, She was 58 years of age, and had lived in Erbsville all her life.

Surviving are her husband, four daughters and two sons, Mrs. Percy Peppler, Heidelberg, Mrs. Clayton Esch, Conestogo, Mrs. Arthur Mank and Mrs. Clayton Heimpel, Waterloo, Julius of Petersburg, and Sheldon of Waterloo, one sister, Mrs. John Kummer, Smithville, and one brother, George Schnarr, Essex. Seven grandchildren also survive.

The funeral will be held Thursday at 2 o'clock from the residence to Erbsville Lutheran church for service at 2.30. Interment will take place in the Erbsville cemetery.

There passed away on Tuesday morning, John S. Ruppel, son of the late Charles Ruppel, who has been in ill health for the past two years at his home, 20 King St. N. He was in his 67th year. He was born in Elmira and has been a resident of Waterloo for the past 20 years. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran church, Kitchener. Surviving are his wife, one son, C. Herbert Ruppel of Waterloo, two sisters, Emma and Bertha, also five grandchildren. Mrs. Elizabeth Heier, 85, of RR 3, Waterloo, died at her home, Tuesday after a lengthy illness. Born in Waterloo Township, she was a daughter of the late Hartman Schnarr and Elizabeth Kuehner. Her marriage to Henry Heier took place at Heidelberg in 1889. Mr. Heier predeceased her in 1941. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran. Church, Erbsville.

RR 3, Waterloo, and Clayton of Waterloo; one daughter, Mrs. Gordon (Valerie) Pfohl, Buffalo, N.Y., three brothers, Charles, Kitchener, Henry, RR 3, Waterloo, and Herman of Windsor; and four sisters, Miss Barbara Schnarr, Kitchener, Mrs. Mary Ann Simpson and Miss Clara Schnarr of RR 3, Waterloo, and Mrs. J. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at her residence, followed by memorial service in St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Erbsville, at 2:30 o'clock. Rev. Henry Nuhn will officiate. Interment will be in Erbsville Lutheran Cemetery. The body is at the Edward R. Good Funeral Home, Waterloo, until Thursday afternoon when removal will be made to the residence.

Charles K. Schnarr, 81, of 105 Metzloff Drive, died Thursday in London, Ont., after a lengthy illness.

Born Jan. 24, 1879, in Erbsville, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Hartman Schnarr.

A resident of the Twin City area for many years, he was employed at Baetz Brothers Specialty Company Ltd. for more than 18 years. He retired in 1953.

He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran church.

His first wife, the former Elizabeth Reist, predeceased him in 1915. His second wife, the former Anne Schroeder, died in May, 1955.

Surviving are six sons, Arthur and Earl Rickert and Arnold, Roy, Gordon and Arwood Schnarr, all of Kitchener; four daughters, Mrs. Nelson (Mabel) Paepke, Mrs. Albert (Wilda) Tomlinson and Mrs. Edward (Gloria) Hentges, all of Kitchener, and Mrs. Carl (Verneeda) Gracey of Tillsonburg.

Also two brothers, Henry Schnarr of Waterloo and Herman Schnarr of Windsor; four sisters, Miss Barbara Schnarr, Miss Clara Schnarr and Mrs. Mary Simpson, all of Kitchener and Mrs. Emma Neeb of Buffalo, N.Y.

Twenty-six grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren also survive.

The body is at the Ratz-Bechtel funeral Home where the funeral will be conducted Monday at 3:30 p.m. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. Rev. Arthur Eissfeldt, pastor of St. Paul's Lutheran church, will officiate.

SCHNARR, Henry K. - On Monday, July 25, 1977, at Freeport Hospital, Kitchener, Henry K. Schnarr, age 88 years of Likeholme Lodge, St. Jacobs, formerly of 197 Lester St., Waterloo. He was born at Route 3, Waterloo, where he farmed for most of his life. A member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Erbsville.

Son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Hartman Schnarr; husband of the late Catherine Jacky; father of Orval of Milverton; brother of Herman of Windsor and Mrs. Emma Neeb of Buffalo. Also survived by three grandchildren.

Resting at the Edward R. Good Funeral Home, 171 King St. South, Waterloo, after 7 p.m. today, until noon Thursday, then to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Erbsville, for funeral service at 2 p.m. Rev. Frank Mantz officiating. Interment Memory Gardens.

HEIDELBERG Julius J. Doerbecker, 59, of Heidelberg, Wellesley township deputy reeve died today at St. Mary's Hospital following a brief illness

Born in Erbsville, he was a son of the late Mr and Mrs dren Theodore Doerbecker.

He had lived in the St. Clements, Heidelberg and Erbsville area all his life He was a member of St Paul's Lutheran Church in Erbsville, a member of the Wellesley township planning board and chairman of the boy scouts, Erbsville division

He had farmed and operated a contracting business for many years.

Surviving are his wife, the former Annetta Ludwig, whom he married in Waterloo in 1933: three sons, Ross of St. Clements. Glen of Heidelberg and Carl of Kitchener three foster daughters. Mrs. Harold (Reta) Hahn, Viola and Irene Bast, all of Heidelberg: one brother Sheldon of Stoney Creek: three sisters, Mrs. Vera Peppler of Waterloo, Mrs Clayton (Florence) Esch of Conestogo and Mrs Clayton (Doris Heimpel of Heidelberg and five grandchildren.

He was predeceased by one sister, Mrs. Alice Mank.

Mrs. Jacob Rahn Passed Away From Injuries Sustained In Accident of Sunday April 24; Inquest Tuesday

Injuries sustained in an auto collision Sunday night, April 24^th at 8: 48 o'clock proved fatal to Mrs. Jacob Rahn, 114 South King Street, who passed away at the K-W hospital yesterday afternoon. The Rahn car a small sedan was proceeding north on Mount Hope street and was just in the center of the intersection, it is alleged when a large touring car, owned by F. Brown and driven by I.R. Gilles, both of Stratford, which was proceeding west on Park street, struck the Rahn car squarely in the centre badly injuring Mrs. Rahn and inflicting injuries less serious on the three other occupants of the car. The Rahn car was wrecked. Following the accident Mrs. Rahn was taken to her home and was admitted to the K-W hospital the next afternoon, where it was learned that she was suffering from a fractured pelvis and other internal injuries. Her condition gradually became more serious.

The sudden passing of Mrs. Rahn was a shock to her many friends and acquaintances. Possessed of a kind and genial disposition the deceased had won for her a very large circle of friends. Surviving are her husband, one son, Robert at home, one step-brother Norman Sass, out west, and one step sister Mrs. Harold Strome, of Kitchener. An inquest will be held on Tuesday evening at 8 o'clock in the city hall, Kitchener. The funeral announcements will be made later.

Born in Waterloo, he was a son of Mrs. John (Mary Ann) Simpson of Wellesley and the late Mr. Simpson. He was a member of the Waterloo fire department for many years and then worked at the former Westside Dairy Ltd. In later years he worked part-time for the Waterloo County Works Department.

Surviving besides his mother are his wife, the former Rita Bauman; two sons, Gary, a corporal posted at Canadian Forces Base, Rockcliffe, and Paul at home; a daughter, Mrs. William (Joan) Drysdale of Rothsay, N.B.; a brother Howard of Erbsville; a sister, Mrs. Lorne (Mildred) Ruby of Wellesley, and seven grandchildren.

Besides his father, he was predeceased by a brother, Melvin.

The body will be at the Edward R. Good Funeral Home after noon Saturday where Rev. Arthur Horst of St. Paul's Lutheran church, Erbsville, will conduct a service Monday at 2 pm. Burial will be in the Erbsville Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service to celebrate Orval's life and faith will take place at Northside Baptist Church, 1373 Lobsinger Line, Waterloo, on Monday, May 5, 2008 at 11 a.m., the Rev. Neil Sawatzky officiating. Reception will follow the service in the Church Hall. Interment in Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Breslau.
