A Kitchener man, Reginald Steffler, 46, of 101 Fourth St., was killed today in an automobile accident at Orangeville. Provincial Police said Mr. Steffler had spent the night at the cottage of a friend, George Thompson in Orangeville. The exit from the property includes a laneway on a steep incline with a gate halfway up the hill.
Car Brakes Slip
Police said Mr. Steffler stopped the car after passing though the gate and then walked behind the car to close the gate. At this moment the brakes of the car clipped and the vehicle shot backwards, knocking Mr. Staffler to the ground and dragging him 10 feet. He was dead when found. A salesman for Bond Hardware Company Ltd., Guelph, Mr. Steffler previously operated a hardware store in Kingsdale for 10 years
Family Survives
A native of Kitchener, he is survived by his father, Enoch Steffler of Kitchener, his wife, the former Alberta Widmeyer, three sons, Murray of London, Ont., Dale and Barry of Kitchener, and a daughter, Caroline, also of Kitchener. Also surviving are two sisters, Dorothy, and Mrs. Peter (Vearle) Ernst, both of Kitchener. The body is at the Schreiter-Sandrock Funeral Home, Kitchener, pending funeral arrangements. An inquest will be held in Orangeville on Wednesday.

Reginald Stauffer
Funeral for Reginald Stauffer, 46, of 101 Fourth St., will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. at the Schreiter-Sandrock Funeral Home. Rev. Karl Knauff will officiate. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery. Mr. Steffler, who was killed when his car crushed him Tuesday at Orangeville, attended St. Luke's Lutheran Church and was a member of Twin City Lodge, AF and AM.
