    In loving memory of the Rev. Hope Erna Jackson, who passed away in her 81st year on Monday, June 23, 2003, at the Espanola General Hospital, after a two year battle with cancer.

    Beloved wife of the Reverend Arthur, (predeceased 1978).

    Loving sister of (twin) Faith Erma Bauman (husband David) of Lorain, Ohio and L. George Weber (wife Kathleen Murray-Weber) of Toronto. Loving aunt of Mark Bauman (Janice), Philip Bauman (Christina), Mark Weber, and Krista Alcantara (Rene). Born near Preston, (now Cambridge), daughter of the late Norman H. Weber and Mildred (Becker).

    Hope is also survived by her husband's first family, Pat, Ken, Gwen and Verna; and Hope's long time friend Pierre Pichette. Hope leaves behind what she often referred to as "Her Family", the people of Massey Pastoral Charge of the United Church of Canada, and the members of the Sudbury Presbytery and Manitou Conference.

    She was president of Manitou Conference from 1985 to 1986. Hope was very active with her sisters in Christ the members of the U.C.W. She served in many positions in the local, Presbyterial and Conference levels. Hope had many friends and admirers among the Massey Spanish and Walford Communities. She was well known throughout north eastern Ontario, and beyond, for her services with the church.

    She was an active member of many organizations both at the local and district levels, including the local Agricultural and Horticultural Societies, The Woman's Institute, The Massey Players, the Library Board, the local food bank, and Community maintaining the Massey Interchurch Council. She not only supported its aims since its inception in the late 1970's but showed her love for ecumenism in her daily life. Among other Honours, Hope was a recipient of a "Queen's Jubilee Award", and was selected to receive an Honorary Fellowship of Huntington University.

    The Rev. Hope Jackson started her career in the Ministry in Gypsumville, Manitoba in 1950. After obtaining her M. Div. and ordination in 1958, she served as minister in Kingston and River John in N.S., Walter's Falls and Massey Ontario. Hope retired in 1987 and remained active in the local Charge, and was named Minister Emeritus. Hope will be missed by her family and friends and relatives for her "Love for God", her "enthusiasm for life" and her "infections laugh". Visitation will take place at the Walford Community Hall, Walford Ontario on Thursday, June 26, 2003 from 2-9 p.m. and Friday 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Funeral services will be held at the Walford Community Hall, Walford on Friday, June 27, 2003 at 12:30 p.m.

    Following cremation, interment will take place at the Hagey Cemetery, at (Preston), Cambridge, Ontario.

    Donations to the M&S Fund of the United Church of Canada, or to the Hope Jackson Memorial Fund/Massey Pastoral Charge c/o St. Andrew's Congregation of the U.C. or the charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to BOURCIER FUNERAL HOME LTD., Espanola, Ontario.
