    James Ross Richmond Passes - James Ross Richmond, RR 4, Bright (Washington) passed away Friday in St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener. He was in his 59th year. A son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William D. Richmond he lived and farmed all his life on Brae-Heid Farm. As well as farming, Mr. Richmond sold real estate for a period of time. He was a member of the Washington United Church, at one time a member of the former Blenheim Township School Board, and a member of several farm organizations within Oxford County. Surviving besides his wife, the former Jean Smith, are daughters, Mrs. Garry (Carolyn) Gibbons of New Hamburg and Mrs. William (Rosemary) Chesney of London; sons Robert of New Hamburg, Geoffrey and Roger, both at home; a brother Willson of Plattsville and sisters Mrs. Perry Thomson of Washington and Mrs. Oliver Hill of Simcoe. Predeceased by a son James. Funeral service was held Monday at the Glendinning Funeral Home Plattsville. Rev. H.A. Pillen officiated. Interment in Ayr Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jack Richmond, Quentin Hallman, James Tew, Gordon Kaufman, John Shepherd and Peter McDonald.

    Richmond Dies From Injuries - A Washington man died at St. Mary's Hospital early Sunday of injuries received a week ago in a car-train collision which also took the life of his fiancée. Dead is James C. Richmond of Washington, in his 23rd year. His fiancée, Marion Joy Miller of Baden, was pronounced dead at the scene of the April 19th accident on Wilmot Township Road 14, a half-mile south of Highway 7-8B, near Baden. They were to have been married this summer. He had been a student at Guelph University for the past 4 years. Born at Washington, Ontario, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Ross Richmond, he had lived near Washington all his life. Surviving besides his parents are three brothers, Robert, Geoffrey and Rodger, all at home; two sisters, Mrs. Garry (Carolyn) Gibbons, New Hamburg and Rosemary at home; maternal grandmother, Mrs. R. J. Smith, Fairfield, Ontario. The funeral service was held from the Glendinning Funeral Home, Plattsville, on Tuesday, April 28th at 2: 30 p.m. Burial was in Ayr Cemetery. Rev. H. D. Pillen of Washington United Church officiated. Pallbearers were Douglas Kempthorne, Rick Kaufman, Roger Shantz, Ronald Montgomery, Bruce Hundt and Donald Kreager. Flower bearers were William Thomson, Bruce Richmond, John Shepard and Murray Shepard.

    Geoffrey Richmond - Geoffrey Thomas Richmond of Kitchener and formerly of Washington, passed away on Saturday, April 3, 1999. He was in his 46th year. Beloved son of Jeanne (Smith) of Washington and the late Ross Richmond. Dear brother of Carolyn and her husband Garry Gibbons of New Hamburg, Robert and his wife Janet of Cambridge, Rosemary and her husband Bill Chesney of Burlington, and Roger and his wife Barbara of RR 4, Bright (Washington). Fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brother James. He had worked on the family farm at Washington all his life. A private family service was conducted at the Glendinning Funeral Home, Plattsville. Interment in Ayr Cemetery.
