    James A. Guthrie

    The death occurred at his residence in Blenheim township on Friday, June 15, at 10.20 o'clock a. m., of James A. Guthrie, in his 57th year, after an illness of two weeks of rheumatic fever. Deceased was born on the farm on which he lived, and was very popular with a large acquaintanceship for his genial disposition. He was a member of Knox United Church and took a deep interest in all work connected with that organization. He was a son of the late Robert Guthrie, and is survived by one brother, Henry, of Paris Plains, and one sister, Mrs. Murdo McRae, south Dumfries. There was a large attendance at the funeral which took place to Ayr Cemetery on Monday afternoon. The services were in charge of Rev. J.W. Currie, while the pallbearers were: Messrs. A .E. Laurie, William T. Edgar, J. W. Currie, Morton Guthrie, M. M. Robson and Wm. Manson.
