    LOUIS DOEHN

    Louis Doehn of 136 River Rd.. E Kitchener, died at his home May 22. 1968 after a lengthy illness, he was 89.

    Born in Germany, March 24. 1879, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Doehn. He lived in the Twin City area for the past 87 years and was a member of Zion United Church. He was a market gardener for many years. He retired in 1958.

    Surviving are his wife, the former Augusta Hinz, whom he married in Kitchener Jan. 21, 1914; two sons. Wesley of Kitchener and Albert of RR 2. Kitchener; five daughters. Mrs. Harry (Viola) Filsinger and Mrs. Stanley (Selma) Swartzentruber, both of Kitchener. Mrs. Elverne (Frieda) Hallman of RR 2. Petersburg. Mrs. Andrew (Edna) Filsinger of RR 2. Baden, and Mrs. Gerald (Pearl) Gingerich of Zurich; 12 grandchildren.

    He was the last surviving member of his family. He was predeceased by one brother and two sisters.

    The body was at the Ratz-Bechtcl Funeral Home where Rcv. F. M. Faist and Rev. G.F. Barthel conducted the funeral service Friday at 3 p.m. Burial was in Memory Gardens.

    SWARTZENTRUBER, Selma "Sally" Marie (nee Doehn) - Surrounded by her loving family, passed away peacefully to be with her Lord, on Friday, June 13, 2008, at K-W Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, in her 86th year. Beloved wife of the late Stanley Swartzentruber (2007). Survived by her cherished sisters, Frieda Hallman, Edna Filsinger, and Pearl Kuepfer. Sister-in-law of Glennis Doehn, Andrew Kuepfer, Ken Wagler and Mildred Schwartzentruber. Will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, Louis and Augusta Doehn; parents-in-law, Peter and Katie Schwartzentruber; sister, Viola Filsinger; brothers, Wesley Doehn, Albert Doehn; sisters-in-law, Alice Wagler, Beatrice Doehn; brothers-in-law, Erlis Schwartzentruber, Andrew Filsinger, Gerald Gingrich, Elverne Hallman, and Harry Filsinger. "Aunt Sally" will always be remembered for her lovely meals and hospitality. Selma and Stan enjoyed spending quality time working on their flower gardens during their retirement years. Selma's family will receive relatives and friends at the Henry Walser Funeral Home , 507 Frederick St., Kitchener, 519-749-8467, on Tuesday, June 17, 2008 from 1-1: 45 p.m. followed by a funeral service in the chapel at 2 p.m. The Rev. J.D. Kellough officiating. Interment Memory Gardens Cemetery.     Surrounded by the love of her family, her heart's desire was met on March 24, 2022, at Heritage House, St Jacobs. She is home.

    Pearl was a part of the Zurich Community for most of her life. After the untimely death of her first husband Gerald Gingerich, she found new purpose when she started the Blessings Community Store & Foodbank. She eventually married Andrew Kuepfer and he joined her in the work of Blessings. Upon retirement they moved to the Nithview Community where she spent over 20 years building so many friendships. In November 2021 she moved to St. Jacobs to Heritage House.

    Dear mother of Gary & Anne Gingerich of Florida, Carol & Pete Wilson, and Patty & Clive (2006) Ollies.
    Cherished grandmother of Jennifer (Jay), Jon (Alice), Jeremy (Tara), Michelle (Jeff), Jeff (Courtney), Kristen (Johnny), and Michael (Lesley). Treasured great grandmother of Josh, Daisy, Addison, Jaydon, Jaymee, Rhys, Ava, Parker, Jaxon and Aaron. Dear sister-in-law to Margaret Gingerich and Gloria (Wally) Dirks.

    She was predeceased by husbands, Gerald Gingerich and Andrew Kuepfer, her sons-in-law, Gerald Witzel, Bruce Roth and Clive Ollies. She was also predeceased by siblings and in-laws, Viola, Wesley, Frieda, Albert, Edna, Selma, Harry, Beatrice, Elverne, Glennis, Andrew, Stanley, Cyril & Carol, Victor & Audrey and Cleve.

    She will be missed by many nieces, nephews, relatives, friends and fondly remembered by the Andrew Kuepfer family.

    The family will be available on Saturday, April 9th, 2022, at Zurich Mennonite Church from 1p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 2p.m. Interment of Pearl's cremated remains will take place on a later date.
    As expressions of sympathy, donations to Blessings Community Store, Zurich or Mennonite Central Committee would be greatly appreciated.
