    Mrs. Joseph Wismer

    Daughter of Late Robert Carruthers Died in Galt Hospital on Friday

    Following an illness of some five or six months, the death occurred in Galt Hospital on Friday of Elizabeth Carruthers, wife of Joseph Wismer, in her 73rd year. She was born in Greenfield, being a daughter of the late Robert Carruthers and Elizabeth Sherman. Following her marriage 52 years ago at Knox Church manse by the Rev. Dr. John Thomson, she resided in Blair and Guelph for some three years, after which she returned to Ayr, where she had since resided. During her entire married life, she confined her activities to the welfare of her home and family. Besides her husband, she is survived by three sons and a daughter, viz.: William, Bruce, Ont.; Joseph and David, at home, and Mrs. Joseph Robbins (Florence). Also surviving are a granddaughter, Mrs. Bert Stuart (Blanche), Kitchener; two sisters, Mrs. James Elliott, Toronto, and Mrs. Joseph Faus, Jr., RR 3, Ayr, and a brother, John Carruthers, Ayr. The funeral took place from the W. O. Ball Funeral Parlor on Monday afternoon, interment being in Ayr Cemetery. The services were conducted by the Rev. J. W. Currie, and the pallbearers were: Ernest Cress, Bud Campbell, Carl Weitzel, Emory Zehr, James Bell and Henry Wolfe. The floral tributes were lovely.

    Mrs. Lillian Lickers

    Native of Ayr Passes in Windsor--Aged 45 Years

    The sudden death occurred in Windsor on Wednesday March 10, at p.m. of Lilian Wismer wife of David Lickers, aged 45 years.

    She was the daughter or Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Wismer of this village. She was born in Ayr and spent her girlhood here. Many of her schoolmates, now living in different parts of the country will learn with regret of her passing.

    Besides her husband, she is survived by one son, Douglas, of Woodstock; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Wismer: two sisters. Mrs. Florence Robbins, Brantford and Mrs. Blanche Stewart, Weiland three brothers, William, Otter Lake, Ont., Joseph, at home and David, Drumbo.

    The funeral took place from the Ball Funeral Home on Saturday afternoon at four o'clock, with the Rev. W. J. McKeown of Galt in charge of the services. There were many beautiful floral tributes. The pallbearers were: James Burton, Ernest Cress, Alex McLeod, Jr., Robert Matheson, Ephraim Hawes and Arthur Hawes. Interment was made in Ayr Cemetery.
