JOSEPH E. SNYDER

Joseph E. Snyder, of West Montrose, died Sunday, Feb. 10, at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener, after a brief illness. He was 77.

Mr. Snyder was born near Winterbourne, Jan. 26, 1886, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Menno Snyder.

His wife, the former Olivia Raltar, predeceased him and he is survived by a son, Norman, of Galt; five daughters, Mrs. Lorne (Ada) Durst and Ethel Snyder, of Kitchener, Mrs. Earl (Amy) Eisenbach, of Elmira, Mrs. Harvey (Ruth) Dust, of Conestogo, Mrs. Vera Bettridge, of Breslau; two brothers, William and John, of West Montrose; three sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Macklin and Susan Snyder of Kitchener, and Mrs. Leo Buckridge, of Detroit, and 15 grandchildren.

Mr. Snyder was predeceased by three sisters and two brothers.

He was a member of St. Boniface Roman Catholic Church, Maryhill, where requiem mass was conducted Tuesday by Rev. V.J. Pickett, with burial in the church cemetery.

Passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at Innisfree House at the age of 96.

Beloved wife of the late Harvey Durst for 63 years.

Predeceased by her sisters Ada, Amy, Vera, Ethel and her brother Norman.

Ruth was a parishioner of the St. Louis R.C Church and a long standing member of the Catholic Women's League.

Ruth's family will receive relatives and friends from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 5, 2019 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Prayers at 8:30 p.m. on Sunday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Louis RC Church, 53 Allen St. E., Waterloo, Ontario N2J 1J3 on Monday, May 6, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. Reception in the church hall, followed by an interment at St. Boniface Cemetery, Maryhill.

SNYDER, Norman Norm was surrounded by his family when he passed away on Sunday, August 12, 2012 at Grey Bruce Health Services - Southampton. He was 86 years old. Norm was predeceased by his loving wife Rita (nee Eadie), his parents Olivia and Joseph Snyder and his sisters Ada Durst, Amy Eisenbach and Ethel Tuxford. Norman was born on April 6, 1926 in West Montrose, Ontario. He is survived by his four daughters, Judy Renwick (Jeff), Joanne Owens (Craig), Karen McGuire (Al) and Nancy Schneider (Jack). He will be remembered by his sisters Vera Bettridge Ashwell and Ruth Durst. His many grandchildren will miss him dearly, they include Brian Renwick (Krystine), Trisha Owens (Matt), Trevor Owens (Andrea), Tarah and Laura Schneider and Sarah and Emma McGuire. Norm was also blessed to see the birth of three great-grandchildren Emerson, Arwen and Tristan who brought their great-grandpa an immense amount of joy and he always had a huge smile for the newest additions to the Snyder clan. Norm spent the last 10 years living at Elgin Lodge, Port Elgin, where he made many friends and spent many happy times with the extraordinary staff. The family would like to express their gratitude to the doctors and nurses at Grey Bruce Health Services - Southampton for the end of life care that they provided. A private family service will be held at Coutts Funeral Home , Cambridge (519-621-1650). Online condolences may be made at www.couttsfuneralhome.com.
