    JACQUES, John "Jack"

Jack, a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away on Thursday, July 14, 2011, after battling Alzheimer's disease, for over 10 years. Born in Preston in 1923, Jack grew up a gifted athlete playing baseball and hockey, then, the war, flying as a tail gunner for 33 missions over Germany, in a Lancaster bomber. With his new wife June at his side, they began a tiny but successful business 'Knotty Pine Restaurant' that lasted for over 50 years and treated many to date nights, engagements, and countless celebrations. He spent many winters in Florida, trying to keep his 5-wood hitting straight down the middle. His calm demeanor, integrity, sense of place and quiet determination will be missed by the love of his life, June, his 3 boys, John (Maxine), Jim (Debra), Jeff (Florence), grandchildren Jody, Joel, Jessica, Jacqueline, Beau, Jesse, Carlie, Jeff Jr. and great grand kids Joshua and Emma. Beloved by his surviving brothers, Bob (Joyce) and Bill (Joan) and in-laws Yvonne (Leslie), Jack (Ruth).
