    GEORGE H. EITEL

    PRESTON, April 9 - George Henry Eitel, a resident of this town practically all his life, died suddenly at his home here at nine o'clock this morning following a heart attack. He was in his 74th year. The deceased was born at Speedsville. He lived in Detroit approximately two years. Up until eight years ago he was employed with the Preston Furniture Company. Mr. Eitel was formerly a member of the 1.0.0.F. Surviving arc a son. George Edward Eitel of Kitchener, and a brother, Fred Eitel, of Galt. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Donald George Eitel and Gloria Ann Eitel, both of Kitchener. His wife predeceased him three years ago. He was also predeceased by a son and a sister. The remains are resting at the H. K. Stager Funeral Home, Preston. The funeral will be held Sunday afternoon at 2: 30 p.m. from the funeral home with interment in Preston Cemetery .

    Designer George Eitel Dies at 55

    George Eitel, 55, well-known Canadian artist and a furniture designer for Dominion Electrohome Industries Ltd., for the past 25 years, died suddenly today from a heart attack. Mr. Eitel, was stricken while walking, near his residence, 82 Filbert St. The artist, whose paintings have been shown in all major Canadian exhibitions, for the unusual techniques and experiments in the field of water colours. His work has influenced that of other Canadian artists.

    NATIVE OF PRESTON
    Mr. Eitel's paintings are included in the permanent collections (of the Toronto, Winnipeg and Montreal) Art Galleries. He was also recognized as one of Canada's leading furniture designers, Stylings of Delicraft furniture and Electrohome radio, television and high-fidelity cabinets are largely due to Mr. Eitel's creative abilities. He was born in Preston, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Eitel. After receiving his education in Preston and Hamilton schools, he became associated with a furniture factory at Kincardine. Later he was employed with a Toronto company and with the Electrohome firm in Elmira before coming to Kitchener.

    MARRIED IN 1932
    Mr. Eitel was a member of Zion Evangelical church. His marriage to the former Margaret Tuffin, who survives, took place in Preston in 1932. Also surviving are one son, Donald and one daughter (Anna ), both of Kitchener, one brother Norman, predeceased him in 1942.

    NORMAN WILLIAM EITEL

    PRESTON, Dec, 19 - A former well-known Preston resident for more than 20 years, Norman William Eitel, died at the Toronto General Hospital this morning following an operation two and a half weeks ago. In his 35th year, the deceased had resided and worked in Kitchener for the past eight years with the Dominion Electrohome as a radio technician and a tool maker. Born in Preston, the son of George Eitel and the late Mrs. Eitel, he was educated at the local public school and the Galt Collegiate. He was a former member of the local Young Britons. He attended the Kitchener Lutheran Church. Until he accepted the position with the Kitchener concern eight years ago, the late Mr, Eitel lived in Preston. Surviving is his wife, nee Valeria Knack, his father, George Eitel. and a brother, George E. Eitel of Kitchener. The remains will be brought to his home, 151 Elmer Street, Waterloo, Sunday at noon and will rest there until Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock when they will be taken to the H. K. Stager Funeral Home, Preston, from where funeral service will be held at 2: 30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, Interment will be in Preston Cemetery.
