Tavistock Gazette;— Death, the enemy of man, again crept into our village on Friday, June 29th, 1900 when Mrs. Henry R. Wiederhold, aged 22 years, 10 months and 14 days after a brief illness passed away. Mrs. Wiederhold (nee Elizabeth Henrietta Schmidt) came to Tavistock from Philipsburg about a year and a half ago, when she came as the bride of Henry R. Wiederhold, an employee of the Schaefer Furniture Factory. Her husband formerly lived in Philipsburg. About six months ago Mr. Wiederhold bought a home on William St., but unfortunately his wife did not live long to enjoy it. On Monday at 10 a.m. services were conducted at the family residence on William St. by the Rev. F. Veit. The remains were from there taken to the home of her mother, Mrs. Henry K. Schmidt, Philipsburg, and thence at 3 p. m. to the Philipsburg Lutheran Cemetery. The large number who attended the funeral services both here and in Philipsburg bear elequent testimony of the high esteem in which thc deceased was held. The bereaved husband and mother have the sympathy of Tavistock friends.
