Earl V. Gilders
Earl V. Gilders, 75 of 82 Onward Ave, died Wednesday at K-W Hospital following a lengthy illness. Born in Pickering Jan. 19, 1890, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Gilders. He had been a resident of Kitchener for the past 40 years and was a former employee of the Kitchener Water Commission, retiring in 1955. He was an honorary deacon of Bethel Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, the former Florence Wingfield, whom he married in Hespeler Sept. 8, 1916; one son, Ross of Kitchener; one daughter, Mrs. Clarence (Jean) Kropf of Kitchener; one brother, Frank of Dallas. Tex., five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. He was predeceased by four sisters. The body is at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home until noon Saturday when removal will be made to the church for a service at 2: 30 p.m. with Rev. R. H. Murphy officiating. Burial will be in Hespeler Cemetery
