In his younger years as a pitcher for the Galt Terriers, he was scouted by the Brooklyn Dodgers. He developed a passion for swimming in his 50's, and as a Masters swimmer was awarded several medals. He will be lovingly remembered by his children Susan (Peter), Sharon (Kent), Shelley, Jenny (John), Julie (Brad), Jayne (Steve), and Andrew, 15 grand- children, 11 great-grand-children, and counting.
