    Mrs. George Rodger

    PRESTON, Mrs. George Rodger, 73, of 838 Queen Street, Preston, died early today at the Coutts Pavilion, Freeport. Mrs. Rodger was horn in London and lived here for the last 38 years. She was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church and the Women's Missionary Society. She was also a member of the Independent Order, Daughters of the Empire. Mrs. Rodger was predeceased by her husband in 1941. Surviving are three sons, Orme Rodger of Val D' Or, Que.; James Tait of Burbank, Calif.: Percy West of Preston; five daughters, Miss Marjorie Rodger of Preston, Miss Marion Tait of Poughkeepsie, N.Y., Mrs. Murray (Helen) MacPherson of Puslinch: Mrs. Carl (Dorothy) Clemens of Preston; Mrs. David (Ruth) Watson, RR 3, Guelph; one brother and one sister in England, and 17 grandchildren. The body is at H. K. Stager Funeral Home where the funeral will he held Monday at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at the Preston Cemetery, Rev. A. H. Vair will officiate.

    At his residence, 156 Hedley St., Cambridge (P), on Tuesday, August 15, 1978, Percy W. West, beloved husband of Marion Hilborn; dear father of Linda (Mrs. Earl Doucet) and Brenda of Cambridge, in his 60th year. Mr. West was born in Montreal and had been a resident of Cambridge, for 52 years, employed with Eastern Steel Company of Cambridge. A member of Preston Knox Presbyterian Church and a veteran of the Second World War. Survived by one brother, James Tait of California; five sisters, Dorothy (Mrs. Carl Clemens), Miss Marjorie Rodger of Cambridge, Miss Marion Tait of Vermont, U.S.A., Helen (Mrs. Murray MacPherson) of Puslinch and Ruth (Mrs. David Watson) of Wroxeter. Also one grandchild. Resting at the Barthel-Stager Funeral Home, 566 Queenston Road, Cambridge (P), for funeral service, Thursday, at 2 p.m. Interment Hagey cemetery.

    CLEMENS, Dorothy S.

    Passed away peacefully, on Wednesday, May 3, 2006, at Cambridge Memorial Hospital, in her 89th year. Predeceased by her husband, Carl (April 1997). Survived by her loving children, Carol and her husband Kevin Bidwell and Rodger Clemens. Also survived by her beloved grandchildren, Rebecca and her husband Ben Nelson, Shawn Clemens and his wife Amber and Curtis Clemens, as well as special GiGi to Brody and Paige Nelson and Corina Clemens. She is also survived by her sister, Ruth Watson; brother-in-law, Bob Clemens and his wife Catherine and sister-in-law, Marion West. Predeceased by brothers, Orme Rodger, Jim Tait and Percy West and sisters, Marj Rodger, Helen Macpherson and Marion Tait. Remembered by Lorraine Clemens. Dorothy was born in Arkell and moved to Preston as a young girl. She spent the rest of her life in Preston and was married to Carl for over 50 years. She was a dedicated employee of Preston Metaland Roofing until her retirement. Cremation has taken place. A private family service and burial in Parklawn Cemetery, Cambridge will be held.

    HAGGETT, Linda Louise Peacefully passed away after a lengthy illness at Lisaard House, Cambridge on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at the age of 71 years. Beloved wife of Rick Harold Haggett of Cambridge. Mother to Bill Doucet (Robyn). Grandmother to Dayton and Brady Doucet. Sister to Brenda MacBride (Bob). Special friend of Susan-Marie Lachapelle. Predeceased by her parents Percy West (1978) and Marion West (nee Hilborn) (2014). Linda was born in Kitchener, Ontario and lived her entire life in Cambridge. She was formerly employed at Golden Years Nursing Home for forty-four years as a health care aid. Linda enjoyed the company of friends and family and long conversations. Her hobbies were reading, crossword puzzles, and traveling. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her. Resting at Corbett Funeral Home , 95 Dundas Street N., Cambridge on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 from 2: 00 - 4: 00 p.m. and 7: 00 - 9: 00 pm. Funeral Service will be held from the chapel of the funeral home on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at 1: 00 p.m. Interment will follow at Parklawn Cemetery. In memory of Linda, donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated.

    After a courageous battle with heart problems and cancer, Carol is now at peace. Carol passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2013. Best friend and wife to Kevin and also best friend to her daughter Rebecca (Ben). Loving grandma to Brody, Paige and Cruze. Sister to Rodger. Carol was a lifetime resident of Preston, Cambridge. Resting at Corbett Funeral Home, 95 Dundas Street N., Cambridge, where the family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 6, 2013, from 7-9 p.m. A private family service will be held at a later date.
