She cared for 35 foster children and still continued to keep her arms open for any child who needed help. She had a great love of music. Besides singing and playing the accordion and guitar, her main love was playing the piano which she continued to do until present. She enjoyed entertaining the residents of Winston Park every evening. Myrtle also had a great love for travel which included several trips to Europe, Central America, the Rockies, Texas and lately loved to spend her summers at Grand Bend. For the last 50 years, a special mission for Myrtle was to raise funds for the M.C.C. Relief Sale by crafting quilts, afghans, and needle point. She also made over 80 needle point and many quilts to make sure all her grandchildren and friends were blessed with one. She never met a person she didn't like, always seeking out new friendships. She was a member of St. Jacobs Mennonite Church and also enjoyed years of worship at Wilmot Mennonite Church. A very special thank you to Tamara Schroeder who spent countless hours at her side tending to her every need, Pauline Donovon who was like a daughter to her, the staff at Winston Park who she treasured very much, and all her special friends at Winston Park who put a smile on her face every day.
