    Mrs. Joanna Pawelko

    PRESTON Mrs. Joanna Pawelko of 1010 Vine St., died today in the House of Providence, Dundas, where she had lived for the past year and a half. She had been seriously ill since Thursday. Born in Austria, she came to Preston from there in 1913 and has lived here since. She was a member of St. Clement's RC Church and the church Altar Society. Her husband, Michael Pawelko, died in 1935. Survivors include three sons, Peter of Wiarton, Alex of Galt and Steven of Detroit; two daughters, Mrs. Paul (Helen) Harvey of Preston and Mrs. J. J. (Isobel) Liscombe of Galt and 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Requiem high mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Clement's Church with interment in the Preston RC Cemetery. The body is resting at the H. K. Stager Funeral Home here.

    Mrs. Julia Carney

    PRESTON—Mrs. Julia Marie Carney, 435 Lowther St., died in St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener, early today. She was 53 and had spent most of her life here. She attended St. Clements RC Church and was a member of the Catholic Women's League and the Altar Society. Her husband, Joseph F. Carney, died last May. Survivors include her mother, Mrs. J. Pawelko, Preston: a son, Frank Carney and a daughter, Mrs. Peter (Marguerite) Worden, both of Preston. There are three brothers, Peter, Preston; Alex, Galt; Stephen, Detroit and two sisters, Mrs. Jack (Isabel) Liscombe, Galt and Mrs. Paul (Helen) Harvey, Preston and four grandchildren. Funeral will be held Monday at the Stager-Pass Funeral Home with requiem high mass at St. Clements Church with burial at Preston RC cemetery.

    Mary Pawelko

    The death occurred at 5.30 yesterday afternoon, of Miss Mary Pawelko, second eldest daughter, of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Pawelko, Queen Street, at St. Mary’s Hospital, Kitchener. The deceased, who was in her 22nd year, had been in poor health for the past three years and had been confined to her bed for eight mouths before her death. Through her suffering however, she bore herself with patience and fortitude. Miss Pawelko was a member of St. Clement's Roman Catholic Church and received her education in the Preston seperate school. Besides her sorrowing parents she leaves to mourn her older sister, Mrs. J. Carney, Queen street, two younger sisters, Elisabeth and Helen and younger brothers, Peter, Alex and Steven. The funeral will take place in St. Clement's Church tomorrow at 9 o'clock. Interment to be in the Roman Catholic cemetery.

    CARNEY, Frank

    At his residence, on Saturday, May 10, 1986, as the result of a heart attack, Frank Carney, of Waterloo, in his 64th year. Beloved husband of Lillian; father of Janice and Pat (Mrs. Greg Paleczny), both of Kitchener; Dave and his wife Chris of High River, Alta. and Tom of Kitchener; brother of Marguerite (Mrs. Peter Worden) of Cambridge. Also survived by grandchildren, Drew, Erin and Adam. He was predeceased by his first wife, Helen. Frank was employed with Bell Canada for 38 years and was a member of the Bell Pioneer Club. He was a volunteer with the Canadian Cancer Society, Meals on Wheels and Recreation on Wheels. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at St. Anne's RC Church, 268 East Ave., Kitchener, on Wednesday, May 14, 1986 at 10 a.m.
