Mrs. Thomas C. Bartholomew - Mrs. Thomas C. Bartholomew died at her home, 247 Franklin St. N., Tuesday. She was 92. The former Emma Matilda Wolfe, she was born Dec. 27, 1875, in Hawkesville, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Paul Wolfe. She was a member of the Kitchener Seventh Day Adventist Church. Her husband, to whom she was married March 16, 1897, in Blair, predeceased. Surviving are one son, Thomas George of Durham; two daughters, Mrs. Roy (Lolly) Becker of Blair and Mrs. Gordon (Grace) Wildfong of Hespeler; three brothers, Henry of Teeswater, formerly of Ayr; Charles of Lakewood, Ohio, and Ervin E. of Kelowna, B.C.; 11 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by one daughter, Olive; one brother, Menno; and two sisters, Mrs. Tilman Shafer and Mrs. Rebecca Schmidt. The body will be at the Keffer Funeral Home, after noon Saturday. The service will be conducted at the funeral home on Monday at 2 pm by Pastor Matthew Weststrate. Burial will be in Strasburg Mennonite Church Cemetery.

Beloved husband of Edith Nairn; dear father of Joyce (Mrs. Russell Reeve) of Route 2, Cambridge (G), Joan (Mrs. Richard Edworthy) of North Bay and one step-daughter, Nancy (Mrs. Russell Muir) of British Columbia. Also survived by 11 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and two sisters, Georgina (Mrs. Roy Becker) of New Dundee and Grace, (Mrs. Gordon Wilfong) of Cambridge (G). Predeceased by his first wife, Mildred Hussey in 1952. A life-long area resident, passed away at Freeport Hospital on August 8th. She was in her 89th year. The former Georgina (Lolly) Bartholomew, she was born at Strasburg, a daughter of the late Charles Bartholomew and Emma Wolfe. Mrs. Becker and her late husband Roy, farmed at The Plains for many years. She was a member of Roseville United Brethren in Christ Church, the Women's Missionary Group, and Helena Feasby Women's Institute. Dearly loved mother of Merle and her husband Armond Musselman of New Dundee, Charles of Ayr, Don and his wife Audrey of Kitchener, Glen and his wife Shirley of Alma, Stan and his wife Elaine of Bright, Gerald and his wife Gloria of New Dundee and Carol and her husband David Croley of Kitchener. Mrs. Becker will be sadly missed by 20 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren. Also survived by one sister, Mrs. Grace Wilfong of Cambridge. She was predeceased by one brother, George Bartholomew and two grandchildren. Rested at Westmount Funeral Home, Kitchener. Funeral service will be held today (Thurs.) at 2 p.m., at Roseville U.B. Unexpectedly, at home, on Friday, February 10, 2012, a lifelong resident of the New Dundee area, in his 65th year. Bruce was a well known farmer who had a passion for his family. He was born June 16, 1952, in Kitchener. Besides his parents he is survived by a brother Bruce, at home and a sister, Linda, at home. The body is at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, where funeral service will be held Frida at 3 p.m with Rev. Ward Woolner of the Alma St. United Brethren Church, officiating.
