    Bowman, Mabel, died at Fairview Mennonite Apartments, Cambridge, Ont., Jan. 21, 1988; aged 79. She was married to Eldon K. Bowman, who preceded her in death. Surviving are 3 sons (Vernon, Gilbert, and Cleo), 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and one sister (Grace Savanac). She was a member of First Mennonite Church. Funeral services were held at Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Chapel on Jan. 25, in charge of Glenn Brubacher; spring interment in Mannheim Mennonite Cemetery.

    BOWMAN, Cleo Grace April 28, 1931 - January 2, 2017 Went home to be with her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, from Bethany Lodge, Markham, Ontario, on Monday, January 2, 2017. Loving sister of, and predeceased by, brothers Edgar, Vernon and Gilbert and by her parents Eldon and Mabel Bowman of Kitchener. Cleo worked most of her adult life as a VON nurse in the Toronto area. Visitation from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. will be held at Chapel Ridge Funeral Home, 8911 Woodbine Avenue, Markham (4 lights north of Hwy. 7) on Friday, January 6th. Interment at Mannheim Mennonite Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at www.chapelridgefh.com

    BOWMAN, Vernon C. Passed away and set sail to his heavenly port of call on January 23, 2010, in his 77th year, with his family by his side. Vern was an avid sailor and long time member of the Midland Bay Sailing Club; a long standing member of A.A. and a V.A. veteran. Loving husband of Marie. Sadly missed by children; Richard (Barb) Bowman, Veronica (Charles) Matchett, Valerie (Brian) Poirier, Dianna Bowman and David (Sabrina) Bowman. Cherished grandfather and great-grandfather of 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Vern is survived by his sister Cleo and brother Gilbert. Predeceased by his parents, Eldon and Mabel Bowman and his brother Edgar. He will be lovingly remembered by his extended family Debbie and Dave, Mike and Sue, Kevin and Cathy, Jackie and Chuck, Greg and 7 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; his nieces and nephews and many friends. A Memorial Service in celebration of his life will be held at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 845 Yonge Street, Midland on Saturday, January 30th at 1:00 p.m. (with visitation one hour prior). A Reception will follow the service in the auditorium of the church. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Cancer Society, Gideon Society or Holy Cross Lutheran Church would be greatly appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to the LeClair Cremation Centre, Midland.

Gilbert was the beloved husband of Shirley (Fields) Bowman (1935-2006) for 50 years. Loving father of Lori Cantelo and her husband Philip of Belleville and Sue Whittingstall and her husband Paul of Markham. Loving brother of Cleo Bowman of Markham. Predeceased by brothers Edgar and Vernon and by his parents Eldon and Mabel Bowman of Kitchener. Cherished Grandpa of Karl and his wife Lindsay, Beth and her husband Josh, Scott and his wife Leah, Eric and Mark. Great Grandpa (Grpa!) to Malachi, Daniel, Jessica, Addie, Eli, and Wesley. Visitation will be held at Chapel Ridge Funeral Home, 8911 Woodbine Ave., Markham (4 lights north of Hwy. 7) on Wednesday, July 8th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Harvest Bible Chapel, 8176 McCowan Rd; Markham on Thursday, July 9th at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Manheim Mennonite Cemetery.
