    Schaus, Mrs. John (Hazel) - At St. Mary's Hospital, on Tuesday, Oct. 28, 1975, suddenly following a heart attack, Hazel Weber of 7 Eby St. N., Kitchener, age 66 years. A member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, a daughter of the late Jacob Weber and Lavina Schmidt. Wife of John Schaus; mother of Ronald Howard, Kitchener; sister of Howard, Roy, Ken, all of Kitchener, Mrs. Edna Whitefoot, Cambridge (Preston); Gladys (Mrs. Orville Pfaff), New Hamburg, Esther (Mrs. George Coyne), Kitchener, and Margaret Weber, Vancouver. Four grandchildren also survive. She was predeceased by one daughter Mrs. Marlene Ahrens. Friends may call at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. W., Kitchener, where the funeral and committal service will be held on Thursday, at 2 pm, Rev. F.W. Zinck officiating. Interment will be in Waterloo Mount Hope Cemetery.

    Passed away unexpectedly at home on Tuesday, December 23rd, 2014 at the age of 83. Beloved husband of Martha for 54 years. Loving father of Karen and her husband Blake Martin, and Kelly and her husband Mike Dybowski. Proud "Papa" of Amanda, Abe, Zack and Lucas. Dear son of the late John and Hazel Schaus and brother of the late Marlene Ahrens. Ron was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church and part of the choir. He was a longtime employee of J. M. Schneider. Following his retirement, Ron enjoyed serving people at St. Jacob's Market. He had a great love of music and passion for entertaining. He enjoyed playing his saxophone, performing in his band and singing in various choirs, including the Schneider Male Chorus and Gloryland Chorus. Ron's family will receive relatives and friends from 2-4 & 7-9 pm on Monday December 29, 2014 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. There will also be visitation at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 322 East Ave., from 10 am on Tuesday December 30, 2014 until the time of the Memorial Service at 11 am. Reception to follow in the Church Hall. Interment Memory Gardens Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Huntington Society would be appreciated by the family (cards available at the funeral home).     COUPLE FLY TO CLEVELAND AFTER LUTHERAN VOWS HERE

    A plane trip to Cleveland was by Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Edward Ahrens who were married Sept. 25 at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church.

    The bride is the former Marlene Elizabeth Schaus, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John L. Schaus, 7 Eby St. North. The bridegroom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Herman E. Ahrens, 43 Van Camp Ave.

    Rev. Dr. John Schmieder performed the ceremony. Gold chrysanthemums decorated the church Wedding music was played by organist Clarence Totzke.

    WEARS BALLERINA GOWN

    A ballerina length gown of nylon net and Chantilly lace over slipper satin was worn by the bride. The fitted bodice was topped with a scalloped yoke and neckline of matching lace which extended into tiny puffed sleeves.

    The billowy skirt had a pleated frill of nylon net at the hemline with an insertion of lace at the top of the frill. She wore matching three-quarter length gloves of nylon and lace, and her headdress was a profile model of net and pearls with appliques of Guipure lace.

    It held a hand-rolled veil of French illusion net, trimmed with three rows of silk braid. She carried white chrysanthemums and stephanotis.
    Maid of honor was Miss Betty Whitefoot, Preston, who wore a deep bronze cocktail dress of iri descent shot taffeta, styled with a scoop neckline and full crinolined skift. She carried rust and gold chrysanthemums.

    HAS IDENTICAL GOWN

    Bridesmaid Miss Carol Bush was gowned like the maid of honor. Best man was Mr. Edward Schumman, Kitchener. Ushers were Mr. Herbert Ahrens, Kitch ener, and Mr. Jack Whitefoot, Preston.

    The evening reception was held at the New Hamburg Community Centre. The bride's mother wore. a navy imported lace suit-dress lined with iridescent pink shot taffeta. She chose a pink hat and gloves and her corsage. was of pink carnations and sweetheart roses.

    The bridegroom's mother was in light blue crepe with deep, blue accessories and her corsage was of pink carnations and sweetheart roses.

    For travelling the bride wore a navy blue nubbed linen suit with white trim, navy hat, white gloves and white feathered carnations. They will live at 38 Madison Ave. North.
