    Jarosz, Ksawera (Vera) - Following a brief illness, at K-W Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, on Monday, Feb. 26, 1996, in her 99th year. Born in Podkamien, Poland on August 6, 1897, the daughter of Pauline and Frank Poltorak. Predeceased by her husband, Stanley and sons, Theodore and Edmund. A longtime member of Sacred Heart RC Church and later St. Anthony Daniel Parish. Dear mother of Mrs. Norm (Stella) Shoemaker, Mrs. Josephine Rohe, Mrs. Ksavera Horlor, Alfreda Jarosz and Mrs. Rock A. Valeriote. Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. Also survived by her sisters, Stella Kunda and Jozia Maliszewski. The family will receive friends at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. W., Kitchener, today (Wednesday) 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Parish prayers will be recited at the funeral home tonight (Wednesday) at 8 pm. Prayers will be said at the funeral home on Thursday at 10: 30 am, after which transfer will be made to St. Anthony Daniel RC Church for a funeral mass at 11 am, Father Ed House officiating. Private family entombment Woodland Mausoleum.

    JAROSZ, Alfreda Passed away suddenly on Thursday, September 8, 2016. Beloved daughter of the late Vera and Stanley Jarosz. Loving sister of Josephine (late Ralph), Ksavera (late Rick), Jeannette (late Roch) and the late Stella (Norm), Ted and Jerry. Survived by sister-in-law Jean. Fondly remembered by her nieces, nephews and their families. Alfreda will long be remembered for her acts of kindness to family members and many friends. For many years Alfreda taught in Ontario as well as three years in Holland. She loved music, especially opera, and spent a great deal of time travelling. Alfreda was generous with her time, volunteering with several organizations. Alfreda's family will receive relatives and friends from 6-9 p.m. on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 and from 10-10:45 a.m. on Wednesday September 14, 2016 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home , 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Prayers 8:45 p.m. Tuesday. Memorial Service in the Chapel on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at 11 a.m. Reception to follow.     SHOEMAKER, Stella Teresa - Passed away, peacefully, at Freeport Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, on Tuesday, March 20, 2001, in her 81st year. Lovingly mourned and survived by her four sisters, Jo Rohe of Waterloo, Ksavera Horlor and Alfreda Jarosz, both of Kitchener and Jeannette Valerlote of Toronto. Fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews, Bill, Stan, Jane, David, Joanne, Susan and Peter. Never forgotten by her great-nieces and great-nephews and great-great-nephew, Matthew and great-great-niece, Rachel Ann. Predeceased by her husband, Norman in 1997; her parents, Stanley and Ksawera Jarosz brothers, Ted and Jerry. Stella retired from the B.F. Gooderich Company as an executive secretary. Her business career spanned 42 years. Stella was an active member of the CWL of St. Anthony Daniel Parish, the St. Mary's Hospital Auxiliary, the Carmelite Guild and Probus. She was also a longtime member of the Maryhill Golf Club. Relatives and friends may call at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King St. W., Kitchener, today (Thursday) from 2-4 and 7-9 pm where parish prayers will be recited at 8: 30 pm. Prayers will be offered from the funeral home at 9: 15 am, followed by a funeral mass at St. Anthony Daniel RC Church at 10 am. Cremation. - (Note: Photo included with Obit. See image file.)

    JEANNETTE ANNE VALERIOTE (née JAROSZ)

    February 1, 1935 \endash January 1, 2023

    Following a brief illness, Jeannette, of Toronto, passed away at the age of 87 years.

    She will be dearly missed by her sister, Ksavera Horlor, her step-children, nieces, nephews and their families, as well as by her many friends. Jeannette was predeceased by her husband, Roch; sisters, Stella, Josephine and Alfreda; her brothers, Teddy and Jerry; and her parents, Vera and Stanley.

    Jeannette had many roles in her life. She was the youngest child of Vera and Stanley Jarosz; sister to her six older siblings; an aunt, great aunt, and even a great-great-aunt; a loving wife, step-mother, and step-grandmother; and a dear friend to many. Jeannette had a successful career as a teacher and librarian. Her many interests included gardening, cooking, traveling and the theatre. She will be greatly missed by all who kneew her.

    The family will receive friends at the Humphrey Funeral Home A.W. Miles \endash Newbigging Chapel, 1403 Bayview Avenue (south of Davisville) from 1:00 \endash 4:00 p.m. on Friday, January 27th. A service will be held in the chapel at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 28th.
