    Gerber. - John K., son of Valentine and Katie (Kennel) Gerber, was born in Waterloo Co., Ont., Sept. 17, 1880; died at his home near Nappanee, Ind., from paralysis, Sept. 29, 1940; aged 60 y. 12 d. At the age of 4 he came with his parents to the States, settling first in Nebraska, but later he moved to Indiana, and has resided around Bremen and Nappanee the greater part of his life. He was united in marriage to Barbara Yoder, at Wilmot, Minn., Feb. 5, 1903. This union was blessed with 3 sons and 4 daughters. He is the first one in this family to enter the eternal home. He leaves his companion, 3 sons (Valentine of Nappanee, Floyd of Syracuse, and Moses of Elkhart), 4 daughters (Mrs. Eli Yoder of Nappanee, Mrs. Roman Slabaugh of Milford, Mrs. Christ Miller of Middlebury, and Katherine at home), 19 grandchildren, 2 brothers (Valentine Gerber, of Conneautville, Pa.; and Moses Gerber of Zurich, Ont.), 3 sisters (Mrs. Mattie Jantzi and Mrs. Rachel Jantzie both of Furgas, Ont.; Mrs. Fannie Erb of Zuirch, Ont.). Quite early in life he chose Christ as his Saviour and united with the Amish Church. Later he transferred his membership to the Mennonite Church, having his church home with the North Main St., congregation in Nappanee, at the time of his decease. Services were held Oct. 2 at the Mennonite Church in Nappanee, conducted by Homer F. North. Burial in the South Union Cemetery.

On Oct. 13, 1913, he was married to Mary Gingerich, who survives.     Notes:

    Her death was caused by being severely burned with gasoline, which caught fire while getting a lamp ready, Feb. 13, from which she suffered till death came to relieve her. She united with the Mennonite Church in her youth and was true to God and the Church until she was called from time to eternity. She met with many trials and difficulties in life. In all these she performed her duties as a faithful wife and Christian mother. Funeral services at the house by C. K. Ernest (I Cor. 15) and at the church by P. O. Oswald and Geo. Miller. Texts, Rev. 14:13; II Tim. 4:6-8. Interment in the adjoining cemetery.

    Chris Erb, 82, Died June 29 At Hospital

    Services were conducted today, Thursday at 2 p. m. at the Mennonite church in Beemer for Chris Erb 82, Beemer with Rev. Sam Oswald officiating. Interment will be at the Lake Region Cemetery at Detroit Lake, Minn. Friday morning.

    Mr. Erb died June 29 at the Memorial hospital in West Point where he had been taken a week before. He had been in failing health since last fall.

    Chris Eb, Beemer was born to Menno and Nattie Erb June 27, 1882 in Canada and as a youth came to the Cuming County area. He was married Febr. 13, 1907 to Barbara Oswald and lived near West Point until 1949 when they moved to Detroit Lakes, Minn. Mr. Erb moved back to Beemer in 1958 and has lived with his son, Wilford and family until three weeks before he died. He had just gone to stay with another son, Leonard at West Point. Mr. Erb was a member of the Mennonite church at Beemer.

    Preceding him in death was a son, Menno in 1960 and his wife, Barbara in 1956.

    Survivors are two sons, Wilford, Beemer and Leonard, West Point: 13 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

    Erb, John K., son of Menno and Mattie (Kennel) Erb, was born on Nov. 11, 1884; died at the St. Mary's Hospital, Detroit Lakes, Minn., Dec. 9, 1960; aged 76 y. 28 d. In April, 1957, he suffered a paralytic stroke which left him a semi-invalid. On Oct. 21, 1960, he suffered another severe stroke from which he never recovered. On Dec. 22, 1909, he was married to Lena Oswald, who survives. Also surviving are 6 children (Omar, Amenia, N. Dak.; Wilma__Mrs. Elmer Nitzsche, Cass Lake, Minn.; Ruby-Mrs. Ben Grieser, Detroit Lakes, Minn.; Ezra, Walter, and John, Jr., all of Frazee, Minn.), 22 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 4 brothers (Chris, West Point, Nebr.; Mose, Shickley, Nebr.; Menno, Wakefield, Nebr.; and David, Frazee).     Roth.-Fannie, daughter of the late Chris and Mary (Jantzi) Kennel, was born July 25, 1890, near O'Neill, Nebr.; passed to her eternal reward at the K. W. Hospital, Kitchener, Ont.; June 26, 1944; aged 53 y. 11 m. 1 d. For several years she suffered from am inward goiter. In 1910 she was married to Chris Roth. This union was blessed with ten children. She is survived by her husband, 5 sons, and 5 daughters (Clarence and Elmer, Britton, Ont.; Irma-Mrs. Clayton Schultz, Poole, Ont.; Viola-Mrs. Abner Leis, Wellesley, Ont.; Mildred, Gladys, Clayton, Lester, Marjorie, and Mervin at home), 8 grandchildren, 3 sisters (Annie-Mrs. C. O. Jantzi, Baden, Ont.; Mattie-Mrs. Joe Kauffman, Havelock, Iowa.; and Ida-Mrs. Wesley Stutzman, Milford, Nebr.), one brother (Daniel Kennel, Huron, S. Dak.), and a stepmother. She accepted Christ as her personal Saviour and united with the Mennonite Church, in which faith she died. Funeral services were held in her late home June 29 by Chris Brunk, and at the Poole A.M.     GERBER, Orland Passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at VON Sakura House, Woodstock on Saturday, January 3, 2015. Orland resided in Baden and was born 85 years ago in Hay Township. He was the son of the late Moses K. and Mary (Gingerich) Gerber. Beloved husband of Marcella (Boshart) Gerber with whom he celebrated 63 years of marriage. Loving father of Linda Fewkes and friend Martin McLaughlan, Bruce Gerber, Sandra Kirk and husband Jamie McQuay all of Baden; and Paul and wife Jamie Gerber of Waterloo. Sadly missed by his grand-children Jay Fewkes (Fiona), Joel Gerber (Heather), Stacey Gerber (Chris), Melissa Kirk (Russell), Alysha Kirk (Alex), Alexandria Kirk (Jordan), Emma Gerber and great-grand-children Ewan Fewkes, Ava and Isaac Gerber. Remembered by many nieces and nephews. Orland was pre-deceased by daughter-in-law Debra Gerber, granddaughter Jennifer Fewkes, sisters Mabel and husband Nelson Riley, Beatrice and husband Laverne Heywood, Ilene and husband Leroy Pothoff, Irene and husband Albert Clausius, father-in-law and mother-in-law Gideon and Pearl Boshart and brother-in-law Delford Boshart. Orland was an active member of First Mennonite Church, Kitchener and also a member of the IEBW 804. He was a volunteer fireman for the Baden Fire Department for 40 years and was a founding member of the Wilmot Heritage Fire Brigades. Orland was an electrician for Sutherland-Schultz for over 40 years and served on the Kitchener-Wilmot Hydro Commission. Family and friends will be received at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron Street, New Hamburg on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday January 7, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will take place on Thursday January 8, 2015 at 2 p.m. at First Mennonite Church, Kitchener with Pastor Nancy Brubaker officiating.     ROTH, Clarence K.-On Sunday, April 10, 1983, at Brunner Nursing Home, Clarence Kenneth Roth, of Newton. Mr. Roth was born in O'Niell, Neb., 72 years ago.

    He was the son of the late Christian Roth and the late Veronica Kennel.

    He had farmed in Mornington township, retiring to Newton in 1970; was a devoted member of the Riverdale Mennonite Church, Millbank.
    Beloved husband of the former Alma Leis of Newton; dear father of Lloyd of Newton and Doris (Mrs. Del Lichty) of RR 1 Millbank; dear brother of Elmer and Mervin Roth, both of Waterloo, Clayton Roth of West Palm Beach, Fla. and Irma (Mrs. Clayton Schultz) of Milverton, Viola (Mrs. Abner Leis) of Wellesley, Mildred (Mrs. Melvin Shantz) of Drayton and Marjorie (Mrs. Ervin Albrecht) of RR 1, St. Agatha. Lovingly remembered by his four grandchildren, Rhonda, Teresa, Heather and Dale Lichty.
    Predeceased by one brother, Lester and one sister Gladys (Mrs. Jacob Spendler).

    MILLBANK-Lester Christian Roth, 35, of RR 1, Britton, died Monday at his home. He had been in ill health for about three months.
    He was born in Mornington Township Feb. 4, 1928, a son of Christian S. Roth of RR 1, Wellesley and the late Mrs. Roth. He was a member of Riverdale Mennonite Church, Millbank, and farmed in Mornington Township for the past 10 years.

    Surviving besides his father are his wife, the former Marcella Schwartzentruber, whom he married in Millbank in 1952; two sons, Barry, 8, Charles 2, both at home; a daughter Gwen, 9, at home; four brothers, Clarence of RR 1, Newton, Elmer of RR 1, Britton, Clayton of West Palm Beach, Fla., Mervin of Kitchener; five sisters, Mrs. Clayton (Erma) Schultz of Milverton, Mrs. Abner (Viola) Leis of Wellesley, Mrs. Melvin (Mildred) Shantz of RR 1, Alma, Mrs. Jacob (Gladys) Bender of Parkhill, Mrs. Ervin (Marjorie) Albrecht of Kitchener.

    The body is at the Futher Brothers Funeral Home, Wellesley, until 10 a.m. Wednesday, when removal will be made to his home.
    At noon Thursday removal will be made to the Riverdale Mennonite Church for service at 2 p.m. Burial will be in the adjoining cemetery. Rev. Menno Zehr and Rev. David Jantzi will officiate.

    Friends and relatives are asked to pay their respects Thursday at the church from 1-2 p.m.
