    BECHTEL, Pearl - Died on Wednesday. April 1. 1998, at St. Mary's General Hospital, Kitchener, Pearl Bechtel, who resided in New Hamburg. She was born in Wilmot township. 78 years ago, a daughter of the late Arthur and Lilly Mae (Witmer) Snyder. She was a member of Hillcrest Mennonite Church, New Hamburg, where she was a member of the WMSC. She had retired from Zehrs Market. New Hamburg after 17 years of service. She was a volunteer at the Thrift Shop, (MCC) New Hamburg, and was a member of the Mannheim Seniors. Pearl enjoyed cross-stitching, quilting, gardening and flowers as her hobbies. Beloved wife of Delfred Earl Bechtel, whom she married 57 years ago. on November 30, 1940. Loving mother of Muriel and Marvin Bowman of New Hamburg. Gerald and Sheila Bechtel of Elmira. Nancy and Jacob Schwartzentruber of Baden. Brenda Neave of Kitchener. Beverly and John Harold Subject of Brussels. Darlene and Paul Wegford of New Hamburg. Ever remembered by 15 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Dear sister. Ethel Roth of Baden, Ruth and Lorne Bowman of Kitchener and Vernice and Myrtle Snyder of New Hamburg. Pearl was predeceased by a brother, Ray and a brother-in-law. Henry Roth. Friends and relatives may call at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron St.. New Hamburg. tonight (Friday) from 7-9 p.m. and Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday a family burial service will be held at Riverside Cemetery, New Hamburg at 2: 30 p.m. followed by the memorial service at Hillcrest Mennonite Church at 3.p.m., with Pastor Maurice Martin officiating.

    BOWMAN, Muriel - Passed away on Tuesday, July 22, 2008, at Freeport Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, Kitchener. Muriel resided at Meneset Adult Community, R.R. 5, Goderich and was formerly of New Hamburg. She was born 66 years ago in Wilmot Township and was the daughter of the late Delfred and Pearl (Snyder) Bechtel. Beloved wife of Marvin Bowman whom she married March 5, 1960. Dear mother of Tim Bowman of Cambridge, Shelly Diebold and Wendy and husband Ken Krieck, all of Kitchener. Sadly missed by her grandson, Dallas. Also remembered by her brothers and sisters, Gerald and Sheila Bechtel of Elmira, Nancy Schwartzentruber of Baden, Brenda Neave and Gary Janes of Cambridge, Bev and Harold Subject of Brussels, Darlene Wegford of Baden and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Lorne and Ruth Bowman of Kitchener, Leonard and Dorothy Bowman of Florida and Dorothy and Ralph Rogers of Goderich. Muriel was predeceased by brother-in-law, Jake Schwartzentruber. Muriel was a member of Zion United Church, New Hamburg and also the Ladies of the Lake Red Hat Society. Muriel and Marvin spent their winters at Holiday Condo in Fort Myers, Florida. Cremation has taken place. A memorial visitation will take place at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home , 291 Huron Street, New Hamburg on Friday, July 25, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The memorial service to celebrate Muriel's life will be announced in Thursday's edition of the Record. Interment in Memory Gardens, Breslau. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Freeport Health Centre Palliative Care Unit.
