    Julius C. Farrow

    Julius C. Farrow, 58, of 20 Brunswick Ave., died suddenly in K-W Hospital on Sunday. Born in Waterloo Township, he was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Farrow. He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church and the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge. His wife, the former Edna Dippel, survives along with three sons, Sherwood and Douglas of Waterloo; Donald, Kitchener; two daughters, Mrs. Carl (Thelma) Meyer and Miss Carol, Kitchener; one brother, Herman, Preston; two sisters, Mrs. Emma Hertel, Haysville; Mrs. Harry Lindner, Bracebridge, and seven grandchildren. The body is at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home where Rev. Henry Nuhn will conduct the service on Tuesday at 3,30 p.m. Burial will be in Memory Gardens.

    1923-2008, With saddened hearts and many tears, we announce the peaceful passing, at Sunnyside Home, of Woody Farrow, Sunday, September 14, at the age of 84. Precious husband of Gloria (nee Stanson) for 65 blessed years, the great love of her life. Caring and loving father of Dennis (Diane), Sharon Cosman, Jim (Susan), and Judy Underwood, (Kim). Grandfather (Dedo) of Debbie, Kimberley and Mark Farrow, and Scott and Andrew Underwood. Great-grandfather of Nichole Farow and Darcy and Jesse Crocker, and great-great-grandfather of Jason and Dustin Farrow. Loved brother of Doug (Janice), Donny (Marg), Thelma North, and Carole Lichti (Enos). Loving brother-in-law of Helen and George Stanson, Edwin Stanson, and Helen Hillier. Dear uncle of many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Julius and Edna, a brother, Arnold, son-in-law, Al Cosman, sisters-in-law, Verna Stanson, Lois Stanson, and Betty Farrow, and brothers-in-law James Stanson, James Hillier, and Wilfred North. Woody served with the R.C.A.F., was a partner with Farrow Brothers Auto Electric, and taught auto shop at Grand River Collegiate. He was Mr. Fixit to family and friends. He loved playing cards, chocolate, fishing, woodworking, chocolate, bowling, telling a good joke and more chocolate. Friends are invited to share their memories of Woody with his family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service to celebrate Woody’s life and faith will be held at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 49 Queen St. N., Kitchener on Thursday, September 18, 2008 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Judi Harris officiating. A reception will immediately follow in the church fellowship hall. Condolences for the family and, in lieu of flowers, donations to St. Peter Lutheran Church, the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Sunnyside Home may be arranged through the funeral home, 519-745-8445 or www.erbgood.com. In living memory of Woody, a donation will be made to the Trees for Learning Program by the funeral home.

    FARROW, Douglas Roy "Doug"

    Passed away peacefully, at Sunnyside Nursing Home, on Saturday, December 05, 2009, in his 85th yr. He leaves to mourn his beloved wife Janice (nee) Miller, stepchildren Veronica Miller, Bernadette (Chris Patterson) of Cambridge and Melanie Miller of Gaspe Quebec. Fondly remembered by brother Donald and his wife Margaret, sisters Thelma, Carol and her husband Eros. Will be sadly missed by his step-grandchildren that he loved so dearly, and by sister-in-law Gloria. Predeceased by his parents Julius and Edna Farrow, his first wife Betty, and by two brothers, Arnold who was killed in action in France in 1944 and Sherwood "Woody" who passed away in 2008. Doug served in WWII, his rank being "Lance Bombardier" as a Gunner operator. He loved to travel and went on many trips including the grave site of his brother Arnold in France twice. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 50 Kitchener. He played in the Kitchener Boys Band in 1937 and sang second tenor at St. Peter's Lutheran church for over 40 years. Friends will be received at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home, 621 King Street West, Kitchener on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Service will be held from the chapel on Thursday at 11: 00 a.m. Reception will be held at the Ratz-Bechtel Family Centre immediately following the service. Interment Memory Gardens Breslau. As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to Sunnyside Home Foundation "Wellness Centre".
