    Notes:

    HESPELER - Abraham Habermehl, 77, RR 2, Preston, died Sunday at his residence. Born in Wilmot township Nov. 13, 1876, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Habermehl. He lived in the township for over 30 years before moving to RR 2, Preston. He was an unordained minister of Hewitt Mennonite Church for 21 years and later a farmer. Surviving are his wife, the former Catherine Schwantz; three sons, Rev. Albert Habermehl of Didsbury, Alta., Clarence of Hespeler, William of Washington, Ont.; three daughters. Mrs. Alger (Mildred) Hilborn, RR 2, Preston; Lila of St. Marys and Marjorie at home. There also are four bothers and four sisters. The body is at the Stager Funeral Home, Hespeler, until Wednesday at 11 a.m., when removal will be made to Warmer's Mennonite Church for funeral service at 2: 30 p.m. Rev. Ernest Lucas of Breslau and Rev. Merle Shantz., church pastor, will officiate. Interment will he in Wanner's Mennonite Cemetery.

    HABERMEHL, Marjorie Isabel

    On Wednesday morning, Aug. 31, 1994, at her residence, St. Luke's Place, Cambridge. Marjorie Habermehl, in her 82nd year. Beloved daughter of the late Abraham and Catherine (Schwantz) Habermehl and dear sister of Clarence of Cambridge. Miss Habermehl, was predeceased by three brothers and three sisters. She will be sadly missed by her friend, Lois Wiechers and her many nieces and nephews. Marjorie was a longtime music teacher (ARTC), in the Hespeler District of Cambridge. The pianist and organist at the Hespeler Baptist Church and worked for many years in the infant nursery of the church and was a member of the Music Teachers Association of Ontario. Resting at the Nelson Funeral Home, 1766 Franklin Blvd., Cambridge, where the family will receive friends, Thursday evening, Sept. 1, 1994 (today) from 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held Friday afternoon, at 1: 30 p.m., September 2, 1994, at Hespeler Baptist Church, with interment following, at Wanner's Cemetery, Cambridge.

    HABERMEHL, Albert Leroy (Roy)

    Died, at Cambridge Memorial Hospital, on Tuesday, Sept. 22, 1992, in his 68th year. Retired Cambridge City Clerk, he was Clerk Coordinator of the Town of Preston for many years and upon the formation of the new City of Cambridge, he became its first City Clerk, retiring January 1, 1982. Roy was active in many local organisations, he was past president of Branch No. 126 Royal Canadian Legion having also served for many years on its Board of Trustees. He also was Service Officer for several years. A charter member of Waterloo-Wellington Branch of the War Amputations of Canada, he held many positions including president and currently served as secretary. He was also a current member of the National Council of the War Amps, Past Master of the Preston Masonic Lodge No. 297, a member of the Naval Veterans and the Airborn Association. Survived by his wife, Doris Hart whom he married February 6, 1943. Also surviving is a daughter, Diane and her husband Ron Bain of Cambridge; three sons, Allan and his wife Carmen of Kitchener, Ted and his Wife Sheila of Cambridge and Robin and his wife Rita of Russell, Ont.; his step-mother, Lydia of Claresholm, Alta.; one sister, Donna (Mrs. Henry Kurtz) of Calgary and four brothers, Frank of New Hamburg, Donald of Kingston, Leonard of Waterloo and Wayne of Ponoka, Alta. There are 10 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his mother, Mearl McLeod in 1940 and his father, William P. Habermehl in 1983. At the request. of the family, there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at St. John's Anglican Church, 587 Queenston Rd., Cambridge, on Thursday, Sept. 24, 1992 (today) at 7.30 p.m. Arrangements entrusted to the Barthel Funeral Home, Cambridge, 653-3251.

    HABERMEHL, Allan Roy Passed away peacefully, Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at Grand River Hospital, at the age of 63. Dearly beloved husband of Carmen (nee Keller) Habermehl for 36 years. Loving father of Scott (Maureen), Chad (Michelle), Amanda (Adam) and proud Grandpa to Rio. Dear brother of Ted (Sheila) and Robin (Rita), brother-in-law Ron Bain. Pre-deceased by his parents Roy and Doris (nee Hart) Habermehl and his sister Diane Bain. Big Al was a loving family man, devoted to his wife, children and granddaughter who meant the world to him. This same dedication was evident in his 39 years of employment as a manager at Sears where he was known for his optimism and his "whistle while you work" attitude. Allan's family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, June 8, 2012 from 7-9 p.m. at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener, 519-749-8467. A memorial service will take place in the chapel of the funeral home at 10: 30 a.m. on Saturday, June 9, 2012 followed by a reception. Cremation has taken place.
