Mrs. Sarah Newitt

PRESTON, Funeral service for Mrs. Sarah Newitt of 1328 Duke St., was conducted today, at the Barthel-Stager Funeral Home. Mrs. Newitt died Saturday, at South Waterloo Hospital. She was 94. The former Sarah Beswick, she was born in Leeds, Yorkshire, England. She had resided in Preston for 50 years and was a member of King Street Baptist Church. She was predeceased by her husband, Arthur, in 1916. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Alice) Nicholls and Mrs. Bert (Emma) Wade both of Preston; three grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Rev. Thomas Oshiro officiated. Interment was in Preston Park Lawn cemetery.

Beloved mother of Joan (Mrs. Jerry Hetmanek) of Waterloo; dear grandmother of Mrs. Debbie Decaro of Kitchener and great-grandmother of Nicholas Decaro. Predeceased by one sister, Emma (Mrs. Bert Wade) of Cambridge. Mrs. Nicholls was born in England, a resident of Cambridge for a number of years, before moving to Waterloo. Friends will be received at the Barthel-Stager Funeral Home, 566 Queenston Rd., Cambridge, Monday, March 3, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Private funeral service will be held Tuesday, Interment in Parklawn cemetery.

DECARO, Deborah Lynn

Passed away peacefully, at Grand River Hospital, on April 8, 2011. Survived by her son Nicholas and his wife Crystal and their daughter, Payton and a daughter, Rachel and her friend Terry. Sadly missed by her parents, Jerry and Joan Hetmanek, aunts, uncles, cousins and special aunt, Betty Parks. At Deborah's request cremation has taken place, with her final resting place at Parklawn Cemetery, Cambridge. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 13, 2011, from 2-4 p.m. at the Schreiter-Sandrock Funeral Home, 51 Benton at Church St., Kitchener. Thank you to Madison House and their help and support through this time, also a special thank you are extended to the doctors, nurses and staff at Grand River Hospital.
