    Of the Golden Years Nursing Home, Cambridge (P), at South Waterloo Memorial Hospital, Saturday, July 8, 1978, Joseph Steiner, beloved husband of the late Magdalena Ditjo; dear father of Joseph and Magdalena (Mrs. Andrew Schlesak) of Cambridge, in his 82nd year. Mr. Steiner was born in Austria-Hungary and had resided in Cambridge (P), since 1952. A member of St. Clement's RC Church. Survived by one sister in Germany; also four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Resting at the Barthel-Stager Funeral Home, 566 Queenston Rd., Cambridge, until Monday morning; then to St. Clement's Church, for funeral mass, at 10 a.m. interment in Park Lawn cemetery.

    Surrounded by family, on February 26, 2014, at the age of 90. Beloved mother of Andrew Schlesak (Marjorie) and Joe Schlesak (Debbie). Cherished Oma to Andrew Schlesak (Evelyn), David Fabian (Michelle) and Thomas Schlesak (Tina). Proud Great-Oma of five. She will also be missed by her son-in-law, John Fabian (Brenda), nieces, nephews, neighbours and friends. She now joins her husband, Andrew Schlesak (1987), her daughter, Magdalene Fabian (2006) and her brother, Josef Steiner (1980). Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life Service at the BARTHEL FUNERAL HOME, 566 Queenston Road, Cambridge, (519) 653-3251 on Saturday, March 1st at 2: 00 p.m. Burial at Parklawn Cemetery.

Also survived by one sister Magdeline (Mrs. Andrew Schlesak) of Cambridge. Mr. Steiner was born in Yugoslavia and came to Cambridge in 1952. Employed with the Appleton Electric of Cambridge. Resting at the Barthel-Stager Funeral Home, 566 Queenston Rd., Cambridge, until Monday morning, then to St. Clement's Church for Funeral Mass, at 10 a.m. Interment in Park Lawn cemetery. The rosary will be recited at the funeral home, Sunday, at 8 p.m.

    FABIAN, Magdalene

    Passed away at Lisaard House, Cambridge on Sunday, Jan. 1, 2006, after a courageous battle with cancer, in her 64th year. Loving wife of John; mother of David and mother-in-law of Michele; daughter of Magdalena Schlesak and the late Andrew Schlesak; grandmother to Tyler, Shaina; sister to Joseph (Debbie) and Andrew (Marjorie), aunt to Andrew and Tom Schlesak, great-aunt to Michael and Kaitlyn. The family will receive friends at the Barthel Funeral Home, 566 Queenston Road, Cambridge on Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at Parklawn Cemetery Chapel, 750 Fountain Street North, Cambridge on Wednesday, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Dale Finch officiating. Interment in Park Lawn Cemetery.
