    MRS. ROSE LOFT

    Mrs. Rose Loft, a resident of Preston, for 60 years, 628 Laurel St., died at the South Waterloo Memorial Hospital, Friday, in her 87th year. Mrs. Loft came to Preston from London, England. She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas W. Loft, in 1966. Surviving are three sons, Thomas of Galt, Albert of RR 3, Galt. Arthur of Preston: two daughters, Mrs. Larry (Rose) Knight of Galt and Mrs. Emmett (Lillian) Henry of Preston: a brother, Albert Hughes of Toronto: three sisters, Mrs. Florence Broom of Toronto, Mrs. Emily Robertson of Toronto and Mrs. Annie Wallace of Toronto. Ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, also survive. Mrs. Loft is resting at the Barthel-Stager Funeral Home, where friends will be received this afternoon and evening. Private funeral services will be conducted, at the funeral home, on Sunday, at 2 p.m., with interment, following in Park Lawn Cemetery.

    LOFT, Thomas William - At the Cambridge Memorial Hospital on Saturday, June 5, 1999., Thomas Loft formerly of Golden Years Nursing Home, Cambridge in his 91st year. Beloved husband of the late Catherine (Currie) Loft and dear father of Nan Bauer and her husband Peter of Cayuga. Beloved grandfather of Michael and his wife Janet of London, England, Thomas of Calgary and Jonathan of Cayuga. Also surviving are his brother Albert Loft of South Hampton and Rose McCracken of Cambridge. Cremation has taken place. Arrangements entrusted to CORBETT FUNERAL HOME, 95 Dundas Street, Cambridge.

    LOFT, Albert "Abby" 1919-2011

    World War Two D-Day Veteran

    Albert passed away peacefully at the Maples Nursing Home, Tavistock, two days short of his 92nd birthday. Albert is survived by his wife, Mary Loft (nee Robertson), children Patricia Bourque (Louis), Tom Loft (Mary), Albert W. Loft (Faith), Arthur Loft (Carol Young), Bill Loft, Mary Ann Loft-DeMarco (Joe). Grandfather of Dana Wipperman, Niki Dalbello, Michelle Fitzpatrick, Tom Loft Jr., Josh Loft, Jonathan Loft, Tiffany Delsaut, Paul Loscher, Ainslie Loft, Eric Loft, Emily Loft, Elaine Loft, Eden DeMarco, Avery DeMarco and his many cherished great-grandchildren. Albert enlisted in 1939 with the Royal Hamilton Light Infantry 2nd Division, and served his country in the Second World War as a Signal Man, and participated in the second landing on D-Day in Normandy, and in the liberation of Holland. After the war, Albert and Mary owned and operated Loft's Groceteria on McKay Street in Galt. They retired to Southampton for many happy years and returned to Waterloo in 2009 to be with their family. Visitation will be held on June 10th at T. Little Funeral Home Centre 223 Main St Cambridge (Galt) (519-623-1290). Hours of visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Saturday, June 11th at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Parklawn Cemetery in Cambridge (Preston).
