    Mr. Karl Phillip Guenzler Mr. Karl Philip Guenzler, one of Kitchener's oldest and most respected citizens, passed away at the family residence 162 Joseph Street, on Thursday evening last, at the age of 83years, 10 months and one day was born in Biberach by Heilbrown, Wurtenburg, Germany, November 9, 1847 and came to this district in 1856. His second wife, the late Mrs. Christina Hemmerich, predeceased him al year and-a-half ago. He leaves to mourn his loss one son, Charles Guenzler, five daughters, Mrs. Conrad Schaefer, Mrs. Charles Olm, Odm, Mich., Mrs. Abner Shantz, Mrs. Allen Seibert, Mrs. Herbert Jacobi, and three step children, Charles Wolfenberg, Mrs Anna Carstens and Mrs. Arthur Niergath. He is also survived by 26 grand children and two great grand children and by one brother, George Geunzler of Waterloo. He Was one of the oldest and most faithful members of St. Pauls Lutheran church. The funeral took place on Sunday afternoon at 2.30 o'clock from his late residence 162 Joseph street to St. Paul's Lathe:min church at three o'clock. Interment was made in Mount Hope cemetery. Rev. A. Orzen of St. Paul's church had charge, of the service. A large-number of Elmira friends of the late Mt. Karl Guenzler attended the funeral at Kitchener

    MRS. HERMAN VOEGE

    There passed away on Thurs' evening last at ten o'clock, Elizabeth Guenzler, beloved wife of Mr. Herman Voege at the residence 38 Shanley St. Deceased was in her 33rd year and had been a sufferer from asthma. She was a devoted member of St. Paul's Lutheran church. A family of four small children and a husband survive. Deceased was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Guenzler, Joseph Street. Mr. Chas. Guenzler of Detroit is a brother, and Miss Katherine Guenzler of Detroit, Mrs. Conrad Schaefer and the Misses Emma and Louise of Berlin are sisters of the deceased. The funeral will be held on Sunday at two o'clock from the residence to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, thence to Mount Hope cemetery.

    Harold H. Schaefer - Harold H. Schaefer, 53, of 105 Church St., died today at St. Mary's Hospital following a lengthy illness. Born May 20, 1908, in Kitchener, he was employed as a records clerk by Campbell Containers until recently. He was a member of St. Andrew's Anglican Church. A son of the late Conrad Schaefer and Emilie Guenzler, he is survived by his wife, the former Florence Train, whom he married here in 1955; one brother, Homer of Kitchener; and three sisters, Mrs. A. (Meta) Hudson, of Kincardine, Mrs. W. (Elsie) Brezina, Dearborn, Mich., and Stella, Kitchener. He was predeceased by one sister. The body is resting at the Schreiter Sandrock Funeral Home where friends are asked to pay their respects prior to the time of service. The funeral service will be private. It will be conducted by Rev. C. Ladds at the funeral home at 2 pm Wednesday. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society will be accepted as an expression of sympathy.

A member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church and formerly employed as a receptionist for John B. Bricker, Doctor of Chiropractics. She is survived by her husband, Harry F. Brezina, and by two sons, James F. of Kitchener and John F. of Cochrane; by a sister, Mary, (Mrs. Clifford Wilke) and two brothers, Wilfred and Donald Jacobi, all residing in Kitchener; and by four grandchildren, Gregory, Mark, Steven and Kerry Leah. A public memorial service will be held at St. Mark's Lutheran Church on Saturday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Vernon Cronmiller officiating. A private family committal service will be held on Friday with interment in Memory Gardens. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.

Granny will always be remembered by her grandchildren, Jonathan Neeb and his wife Jennifer, Andrew Neeb and his fiancée Susy Vaisochr, Ben Wilke and his wife Erin, Stephanie and Jason Wilke and Aaron, Natalie and Nathan Wilke. Granny also shared the lives of her great-grandchildren, Benjamin Neeb and Quinten Wilke. Mary's angels will miss her. Also predeceased by her niece, Carol Jacobi. Mary started her working career at CN Rail followed by a lengthy stint as a courtroom stenographer. She married Cliff on September 8, 1951. Mary was a faithful member of Faith Lutheran Church. Mary had kind words and warm hugs for all who passed her way - she was a great friend and a good neighbour. The family is very thankful for the wonderful care that Mary received at The Village of Winston Park (Assisted Care Wing) and the ongoing support Cliff is receiving. Visitation at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home on Saturday, January 17, 2009 (today) from 12: 30-1: 30 p.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, 247 Westmount Rd. East, Kitchener. Funeral service to follow at the church at 2 p.m. with Pastor W. Hamp officiating. A reception for friends and family will follow the service. Cremation to follow. Private family committal at Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations to Faith Lutheran Church or St. Mary's General Hospital gratefully acknowledged by the family.
