    Notes:

Vern Spencer ~ How do we describe this man who was the driving force of our family, who was loved beyond words and will always live on in our lives? Vern lived his entire life for his Lord, his wife and his family first, unwavering in his love through all things.

He was a worker, a leader, a thinker, a builder, an entertainer, a teacher, a fighter, and a believer. He was the best friend you could ever hope to have, and the person you'd most want in your corner in a tough situation, because you knew he'd always show up, and know just what to do when he got there. He was really funny, he had the voice of an angel, and his smile could be felt in your soul.

Vern was so many things to so many people. We, his family, invite you to use the "Share a Story" section to the right to help tell his life story, and we thank you in advance for sharing.

Mr. LaVerne Francis Spencer was surrounded by the love of his family when he passed away at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, May 21, 2014, in his 85th year.

He was the beloved husband of Joyce (Stuart) Spencer, and the father of Reid Spencer and his wife Catherine, and Rev. Heather Spencer and her husband Wayne Stoltz.

Grandfather of Kathleen Spencer, Laura Spencer, Nathan and Beth Wendel, and Micaela and Adam Quibell, and great-grandfather of Joshua, Lucia, and Jackson.

Predeceased by his sisters Vera Feaver and Margaret Asmussen, and by his parents Reginald and Agnes (Fromm) Spencer.

At Vern's request there will be no funeral service. Immediate family will gather at a private celebration at a later date.

Memorial donations to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Listowel, would be appreciated.
