HIGGINS, Thomas John

Of Sherring Street, Cambridge, on Wednesday, Nov. 1, 1995, at Cambridge Memorial Hospital, in his 75th year. Beloved husband of Mae Blinkhorn; dear father of Alice and her husband Edward Jones, Peggy and her husband Sam Turner and Tammy and her husband Bill Mercer, all of Cambridge; lovingly remembered by nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Survived by one brother, Fred and two sisters, Rita and her husband Herman Harvey, all of Cambridge and Sarah and her husband George Ritchie of Sydney, N.S. Predeceased by his parents, Hugh and Margaret Higgins; three brothers and three sisters. Mr. Higgins was born in Cape Breton, N.S. and had been a resident of Cambridge for the past 48 years. He was employed as a maintenance worker at St. Mary's Hospital, a member of St. Clement's RC Church, the Knights of Columbus and the Royal Canadian Legion Preston Branch No. 126. Friends will be received at the Barthel Funeral Home, 566 Queenston Rd., Cambridge, today (Friday) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, Nov. 4, 1995, at St. Clement's RC Church, 745 Duke St.. Cambridge at 10 a.m. Interment in Park Lawn Cemetery.
