REIS, Joao Soares

Passed away peacefully, at Cambridge Memorial Hospital on Friday, August 12, 2011, at the age of 86. Beloved husband of the late Maria Lourdes Morais Reis. Loving father of Manuel (Maria) of Cambridge, Fernando "Frank" (Virginia) of Wellesley and Norbert (Elia) of Cambridge. Cherished grandfather of eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Joao is predeceased by his four sisters and brothers-in-law. Joao immigrated to Cambridge in 1957, followed by his family in December of 1960. He worked for Walker Exhaust for over 30 years. Resting at Corbett Funeral Home, 95 Dundas Street, Cambridge, where the family received friends on Sunday, August 14, 2011, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Rosary was recited in the funeral home chapel on Sunday evening at 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial, was celebrated at Our Lady of Fatima R.C. Church, Elgin St. S., Cambridge, on Monday, August 15, at 9: 30 a.m. Interment followed at Parklawn Cemetery.
