IOANNIDIS, loannis “John”

Of Cambridge, peacefully, fell asleep to the Lord Tuesday, the 24th of April 2012, at the age of 79. Beloved husband of Angelike loannidis. Loving father of Panagiota (Nikolaos) Bantis and Stephanie (Zack) Makrydakis. Loving grandfather of Anastasia, Evaggelos and loannis. Loving brother of Thanasis (Vasiliki) loannidis. Predeceased by his sister, Soultana Makakis, loannis came to Canada from Nikisiani, Kavala, Greece in 1968 and had been a resident of Cambridge, Ontario, for the last 44 years. He will be fondly remembered as a warm-hearted, gentle, kind and honourable man. He was a strong family figure with a beautiful foundation in faith and will always be loved and remembered by family and friends here and in Greece. May you find rest in a place where there is neither pain, nor sorrow, nor suffering, Resting at Corbett Funeral Home, 95 Dundas Street, Cambridge, where the family will receive friends on Friday, April 27, 2012, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral will take place at Saints Peter and Paul Greek Orthodox Church, (527 Bridgeport Road, Kitchener) at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 28, 2012,. Interment will follow at Parklawn Cemetery, Cambridge.
