At home in her sleep, paid her debt to God on Tuesday, July 22, 2014. She gave her life back to the Lord. Her death is a masterpiece of her Life. The funeral is the last business in her life. Survived by her husband and companion Carl of 47 years married, daughter Maria Wiens (Gerhart) and son Jason. Grandchildren, Jacob and Elizabeth Wiens, enjoyed her presence a month ago. Predeceased by her parents, Martin and Justina Durksen. Also survived by her siblings; Katie (Ed), Annie (the late Henry), Peter (Erna), twin sister Hilda (Walt), Marian (Erv), Martin (Sheila), Frank (Elli) and Henry (Sylvia). Helen’s family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, July 25, 2014, from 2-6pm at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener, ON. A funeral service will be held at Kitchener Mennonite Brethren (19 Ottawa St. N., Kitchener) on Saturday, July 26, 2014, at 10: 30am. Pastor Vidya Narimalla officiating. Reception to follow in the church hall. Interment at Parklawn Cemetery, Cambridge.
