    FACH, Arthur Francis (Art)

    Passed away peacefully, at Cambridge Memorial Hospital, on Tuesday, November 3, 2009, at the age of 87. Devoted Husband to Eva (Dvorachek) for 62 years. Loving Father to Laurie Marrone (Harry) and Susan Toffner, Special Papa to Trish Coupal (Christopher), Mark Toffner (Tracey), Jenny Fanning (Simon) and Julie and Jeff Fach. He will be missed by his 7 great-grandchildren, Evan and Leah Coupal, Logan, Carson, Hayden and Samantha Toffner and Sofia Fanning. He will also be missed by Paul and Kathryn Haist and sister, Grace Fach. Art was employed at Preston Dairy (Maple Lane) for 40 years and he was a lifelong member of St. Clement's Parish (Preston) and a Naval Veteran of the Second World War and longtime member of the Royal Canadian Legion (Preston) Branch #126. He was Commissioner of the Intercounty Junior Baseball Association, for more than 30 years. During that time he received many awards for his tireless devotion and attention to the league. Art was a huge fan of most sports, but baseball was his passion for many years and he was an avid bowler until the age of 85. Sadly he was predeceased by his parents, Herbert and Olive Fach, sister, June Heffernan and his son James Fach (2007). He developed a love of computers in his 70's and was well known among family and friends for his very special personalized greeting cards. He was active on his computer right up until very recently. He was given the Outstanding Senior of the Year award, in 1999 for his many years of volunteer work at the Allen Reuter Centre, where he worked on the newsletter and taught seniors the joy of playing Solo. The family will receive friends at the Barthel Funeral Home, 566 Queenston Road, Cambridge on Friday, November 6, 2009, from 8: 45 a.m. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Clement's R.C. Church, 745 Duke Street, Cambridge on Friday, November 6, 2009, at 10 a.m. Cremation to follow.

    FACH, James Francis "Hank"

    Of Cambridge, on Thursday, October 25, 2007, at Cambridge Memorial Hospital, after a difficult struggle with cancer. Loving father of Julie and Jeffrey, both of Cambridge. Beloved son of Art and Eva Fach of Cambridge. Dear brother of Laurie (Harry) Marrone of Kitchener and Susan Toffner of St. Agatha. Also survived by the mother of his children Cathy Vandervoort. Sadly missed by nieces and nephews, Mark Toffner, Trish Coupal, Jenny Marrone, Paul and Kathryn Haist, four great-nephews and two great-nieces. Jim was born in Kitchener and was a lifelong resident of the area. He was employed for a number of years as a Stationary Engineer at Schneider's, was a member of St. Clement's RC Church, a lifelong fan of the Philadelphia Flyers, an avid fisherman, music and movie buff, as well as a great supporter of his children's activities, Jeff's hockey and Julie's ballet. The family will receive friends at the Barthel Funeral Home, 566 Queenston Road, Cambridge on Sunday, October 28, 2007, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Clement's RC Church, 745 Duke Street, Cambridge on Monday, October 29, 2007, at 10: 00 a.m. Interment in Parklawn Cemetery, Cambridge.
