He was involved with Christian education--Laurentian Hills Christian School and Woodland Christian High. He was employed at Ball Brothers Construction for 37 years. Obituary

With extreme heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our dear friend and the father to my son, Mr. Peter Wilfred Damsma at the tender age of 56. Pre-deceased by his loving parents Jacob Damsma (2002) and Joyce Damsma (2010). Pete will be sadly missed by so many family and friends, foremost his fishing buddy and son, Brody.

I know this man, who was dear to my heart,
Suddenly on February 15th, it was all torn apart.
He gave me so much love and touched my life,
It's all over now, he no longer has to fight.

He tried to teach me, right from wrong,
That day when he left me,
    I wasn't that strong.

He is gone now, it is so hard to believe.
This man is my Dad, who I will never see.
Only 12 short years Dad, I got to spend,
With you as my Dad and my Friend

Memories are all I have now, some picture too,
But those cannot make up for, all my years without you.

Dad, Mom tells me you are an Angel.
Can you please spread your wings wide?
I need you to wrap them around me,
    Whenever you see me cry.

As per Pete's wishes, cremation has taken place. Cemetery service will take place at Mannheim Mennonite Cemetery, 1494 Bleams Rd., Petersburg on Saturday, February 18 at 2 p.m. Celebration of life will follow at the Olde Heidelberg Inn, 3006 Lobsinger Line, Heidelberg,
