"Hold Open House at Lippert Funeral Home," Kitchener Daily Record, September 1, 1939.

An invitation to inspect one of the finest and most modern funeral homes in the province is extended to the public on Friday, Saturday and Sunday of this week, when open house will be held at the newly remodeled Lippert Funeral Home, 338 King Street West. Inspection hours will be from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and all day Sunday. It is an opportunity to see the facilities and fine appointments of one of the city's oldest institutions, established in 1905. Every thought has been given to the comfort and convenience of those attending a funeral, and for the dignity and solemnity of the departed. The large chapel, with a seating capacity for 80 persons, is carpeted with deep wine broadloom rugs and richly furnished with a large chesterfield suite and upholstered chairs. Soft shadowless lighting, venetian blinds and deep hanging drapes enhance the richness of the mahogany woodwork. A public address system makes it possible to transmit the service and music to any part of the building. The Family Room is carpeted with green broadloom rugs and affords privacy to members of the immediate family. A most attractive bone antique suite furnishes this room, in addition to other large chairs. Here, again, soft lighting prevails. Adjoining is a second service room of large size, while a dressing room, wash room and flower room are also on the main floor. The office is located immediately right of the main front entrance, which itself affords generous accommodation for a large number of persons entering or leaving the chapel. Downstairs, entire new equipment has been installed in the preparation room, where everything is finished in white enamel and spotlessly clean. Four large ceiling lights make this room bright as sunlight. Across the hall is the stock, supply and equipment room, a feature of which is a chrome finished service cot with air wheels and spring filled mattress, the last word in this type of equipment. There is also a downstairs den for men. In Lippert's upstairs showroom there is accommodation for display of twenty caskets, in various designs, ranging from the lower priced selections in grey or black, to more elaborate designs in solid oak or steel. Here again, rich wine rugs carpet the floor, to create a most attractive showroom. Plainly marked price tickets on each casket supply information to those interested. It is interesting to note, that in each case the price includes the complete funeral, use of the funeral home, as well as the many innumerable and important details relative to the well conducted funeral. The public is invited to listen to The Sunday Hour each Sunday at one o'clock, over CKCR, and to visit Lippert's funeral home during their open house occasion this weekend.

Edward married Laurette Mitchell 20 Sep 1928, Toronto, York Co., Ontario, Canada. Laurette was born 17 Apr 1908, Toronto, York Co., Ontario, Canada; died 5 Aug 1961, Kitchener, Waterloo Region, Ontario, Canada; was buried , Woodland Cem., Kitchener, Waterloo Region, Ontario, Canada.
