    PFAFF, Orville Charles - On Saturday, April 16, 1988, at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener, Orville Pfaff, of 215 Jacob St., New Hamburg. He was born in New Hamburg 77 years ago, a son of the late Edward Pfaff and the former Lily Hueglin. He and his father, Edward and his brother, Reginald, had owned and operated Pfaff Barber Shop for over 55 years. He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, New Hamburg, where he had been on the church council. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 582, New Hamburg, where he had served on the executive. He had been a member of the New Hamburg Turf Club. Orville was a keen fan of hockey, softball and baseball. Beloved husband of Gladys Weber, whom he married November 6, 1940; dear father of Bryan and his wife Kathryn, Grant and his wife Kathryn, Grant and his wife Karen, Tom and his wife Bertie, all of New Hamburg. Sadly missed by six grandchildren, Scott, Jody, Sheila, Tammy, Jim and Alan. Lovingly remembered by two brothers, Reginald of Thunder Bay, Clare and his wife Verna of New Hamburg. He was predeceased by one sister, Audrey and one sister-in-law, Anette Pfaff. There will be a legion memorial service, Sunday evening at 8 p.m., at Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron St., New Hamburg. A private family service will be held on Monday, with cremation to follow. There will be no public visitation at the funeral home.

    PFAFF, Grant Harold John Suddenly on Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener as the result of a heart attack. Grant resided in New Hamburg and was born in Kitchener 65 years ago. He was the son of the late Orville and Gladys (Weber) Pfaff. Beloved husband and best friend of Karen (Erb) Pfaff whom he married May 18, 1968. Loving father of Sheila and Scott Marquardt and their children Matthew and Ashley of New Hamburg, Tammy Pfaff and Steve Compton and their son Cody of Kitchener and Jim and Melissa Pfaff and their children Ty and Taylor of New Hamburg. Dear brother of Bryan and Mary Pfaff and Tom and Bertie Pfaff all of New Hamburg. Also missed by his sisters-in-law Edith and Ray Youngblut and Pauline Erb all of Tavistock. Grant was predeceased by his sister-in-law Kathy Pfaff and brother-in-law Larry Erb. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 532, New Hamburg for 36 years where he played darts. Grant enjoyed playing hockey and ball in his youth and latterly enjoyed playing slo pitch in New Hamburg for a number of years. He helped start the New Hamburg T Ball. Grant especially enjoyed fishing, geocaching and the outdoors. Grant's greatest love was spending time with his family and watching his children and grandchildren play sports. Friends and relatives may call at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron St., New Hamburg on Friday, August 20, 2010 from 7-9 p.m. and again Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, August 22, 2010 at 2 p.m. Interment to follow in Riverside Cemetery, New Hamburg. As expressions of sympathy donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario, Canadian Cancer Society or the Alzheimer Society.
