    GIRL VICTIM OF TRUCK

Eileen Schneider, 3½ Year Old Child, Crushed Under Wheels of Truck.-Driver Out on Bail.

Another life fell a victim to the auto truck on Thursday afternoon when little Eileen Schneider, daughter of Mr and Mrs. Geo. Schneider. Kitchener, aged 3 1/2 years, was run over by a truck belonging to the Kitchener Public Utilities Commission and driven by Arthur Beilstein. an employee of the commission. The child was going towards the back of the truck which was standing in the lane near her home and as she reached it the truck backed up, the rear wheel passing over the child's chest and abdomen. Mrs. Schneider, the mother. noticed the plight of the little child but before she could reach it the truck had backed up inflicting the injuries. On the truck with Beilstein was her grandfather, also an employee of the commission, both of whom were unaware of the presence of the child, who died from the injuries received at St. Mary's Hospital an hour and a half after wards. She suffered six fractured ribs and a severe laceration of the liver and right kidney.

Beilstein was placed under arrest in the evening on a charge of man slaughter and was later released on ball of $2,000 being furnished, being remanded for a week.

The funeral of the child took place on Saturday to St. Mary's Church thence to Woodland cemetery.

    MAY 10, 1922 \endash JULY 23, 2022

For a little over 100 years, Barbara Evelyn Krueger has impacted our world. On Saturday, July 23, 2022, her work here was done.

She was predeceased by her husband, Russell (2007), her son Jack (2019), her son-in-law David Kergin (2020), and her great granddaughter Lauren (1999). Also predeceased by her sisters and their husbands, Mary and Alex Rubanez, Rita and Herb Carey, and Betty and Frank Whaling. She also lost her sister, Eileen in infancy. Barbara was predeceased by her in-laws, Doug and Beat Roberts, Dot and Ken Woolner, Joyce and Ted Grasser and Ruth and Al Parkins. Much loved eldest daughter of the late George and Eleanor Schneider. She is lovingly remembered by her son, James and his wife Jan and her daughters, Judi Kergin and JoAnne Moore and her husband Ian. Special Nana to Mike and Erin Krueger, Jeff and Miranda Krueger, Kathy and Mark Smith, Kelly and Marc Demarest, Jennifer and Ansgar Luetke-Schelhowe, Ryan and Cindy Moore and Kristen and Jerry Charbonneau. Barbara gave new meaning to the expression "if you want something done, ask a busy person!" And busy she was! She bowled, she curled, she sewed, she knitted, and was a much sought after babysitter for her grandkids.

We want to thank the staff at Conestoga Lodge Retirement Home and those at Lanark Heights Long Term Care for the excellent loving care they provided for Mom in the final stage of her life.
