    Celebrated 50th Anniversasy of Marriage

    Mr. and Mrs. Joseph White of this city celebrated the fiftieth anniversary of their wedding on February 7. The occasion was obverved in the Sacred Heart Church by the singing of a solemn high mass the renewal of their marriage vows of half a century ago. The service was conducted by the Rev. Father Rogulski. Immediately following the mass, while they were kneeling at the alter they were presented with a gold-headed cane representing the staff of Aaron, and were given a bouquet of roses and a symbolic cross. After the service a reception was held at the Strange street home, and was attended by their many relatives and friends. Mr. and Mrs. White have 9 children, 30 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Mr. White is 70 years of age, while his wife is aged 68 years. They cam to this city from Poland in 1880.

    Joseph White - There passed away this morning in his 75th year Joseph White, 98 Strange Street. The late Mr. White had been in his usual good health until about six o'clock this morning when he was taken suddenly ill and he passed away by nine o'clock. He was an employee of the Rumpel Felt Company. Mr. White was a resident of this city for the past 45 years during which time he made many acquaintances. His death will be a giant shock to all who knew him. Surviving are his sorrowing wife, five sons and three daughters. They are: John, Frank, Leo, Adam and William all of this city, Mrs. Walter Rogowski, Mrs. John Rogowski, and Mrs. Charles Kaplin, all of this city. Two brothers, Frank and Michael of Kitchener and two sisters, Mrs. F. Lemanski, and Mrs. E. Lemanski of this city, also survive. The funeral will be held at the Sacred Heart Church on Thursday morning at 9 o'clock. Burial in the RC Cemetery.

    FRANK WHITE

    In his usual health until a week ago, Frank White, 77 Strange street, took 11 with pneumonia and passed away at his home shortly after 7 o'clock last evening. Deceased, in his 83rd year. had resided in this city for the past 63 years.

    Surviving are two sons. Leo and Albert. both of Kitchener, six daughters, Mrs. C. Karges and Mrs A. Soloman, Waterloo, Mrs. Frank Hoch. Mrs. R. Dyer, Mrs. J. Shoemaker, and Mrs. O. Soloman, all of Kitchener, two sisters, Mrs. Lemanaki and Mrs. F. Lemanski Kitchener, and 39 grandchildren.

    The funeral will be held Saturday morning from the home to St Mary's R.C. Church at 10 a.m. Burial will take place in Mount Hope Cemetery.

    Mrs. Eva Lemanski - A native of Poland who came to Canada 71 years ago, Mrs. Eva Lemanski, 96, of 223 Victoria St. South, died yesterday at her home. She was a member of Sacred Heart RC Church. She married the late Ignatz Lemanski 75 years ago in Poland. He died in 1934. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Stella Bilitzki and Mrs. Lawrence (Mary) Simon, both of Kitchener; 19 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Five sons predeceased Mrs. Lemanski. The body is at the Gruhn Funeral Home where the rosary will be recited Sunday at 8 pm. The funeral will be held Monday with prayers at the funeral home at 8: 30 am and requiem high mass at Sacred Heart Church at 9 am, Rev. James Casey will officiate and burial will be at Mount Hope RC Cemetery.

    MRS. MARY LEMANSKI - A resident of Kitchener for the past 60 years, Mrs. Mary Lemanski, 83, of 36 Linden Avenue, died at her residence early yesterday morning. She had been in ill health for the past two or three weeks. Born in Poland, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Michael White, she came to Kitchener 60 years ago. Her husband, Frank Lemanski, predeceased her eight years ago. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. A. W. Burt of Kitchener and one sister, Mrs. Eva Lemanski. Remains are resting at the Lippert-Gruhn Funeral Home until 5 p.m. today. Funeral service will be conducted Tuesday with prayers at the late residence at 8: 30 a.m. to Sacred Heart Church at 9 a.m. Burial will be in Mount Hope R.C. Cemetery.

Deceased had been ailing for some time. He was in his 63rd year and had resided in this city for 40 years. He had been employed by the Kitchener Button Co. Besides his wife, one son, George and seven daughters, Mrs. M. Tokarcyzk, city, Francis, Galt, Madeline, Helen, Nellie, Mary and Cecelia, all at home, survive. One brother, Frank, city, and two sisters, Mrs. F. Lemanski and Mrs. S. Lemanski, both of Kitchener, also survive with three grandchildren.

    John Joseph White, died at his home, 1 Oak Street, last night at the age of 68 years. Death was due to heart failure. Mr. White was born in Poland and came to Canada at the age of nine years. He was engaged as a button turner with the Dominion button Company. He attended Sacred Heart Church and was a member of St. Joseph's Society.

    Mr. White was married in 1894 to Rose Oraszek, who survives with one son, Jerome of Doon, two daughters, Mrs. Peter Wideman and Mrs. Benjamin Kowalski, both of Kitchener, four brothers, Frank, Leo, Adam and William White, all of Kitchener, two sisters, Mrs. Charles Kaplin, Kitchener, and Mrs. John Rogowski, Buffalo, N.Y., and ten grandchildren.

    The funeral will be held Thursday from the residence to Sacred Heart Church for service at 9 o'clock. Interment will take place at Mount hope Cemetery. Rev. Joseph Sambroski, pastor, will conduct the services. The remains will rest at the Lippert Funeral Home until 7 o'clock tonight when they will be removed to the home.

    Frank J. White - Durham - Frank J. White of Durham, formerly of Pine Street, Kitchener, died Thursday at the Durham Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was 93. Born in Kitchener, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph White. He lived in Kitchener for 85 years before moving to Durham in 1969. He worked at St. Jerome's College in the laundry department for 15 years before retiring. He was a member of the Sacred Heart RC Church, Kitchener, and St. Peter's RC Church, Durham. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, the former Annie Olinski, in 1966, two brothers and two sisters. Surviving are a son, Thomas, of Weston; a brother, Leo, of Kitchener; and a sister, Mrs. Charles (Ann) Kaplin, Kitchener. The body will be at the Kress funeral Home where prayers will be said at 10 am followed by removal to the church for funeral mass at 10: 30 am. Temporary entombment will be at Durham Cemetery.

    Husband of the late Mary Schneider, who predeceased him in 1948; father of Anthony J. White, Peterborough; Sister M. Leon, Waterloo; Dorothy (Mrs. Walter Schultz), Agnes (Mrs. Gordon C. Herchenrader), Marie (Mrs. Joh Read), and Betty (Mrs. Willard Siegfried), all of Kitchener, and Reta (Mrs. Lloyd Buchanan), London, and the late Florence; nine grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren also survive. Mr. White was predeceased by four brothers and five sisters.

    Born Feb. 3, 1882, in Kitchener, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank White, he was employed by the H. Krug Furniture Company Limited for 45 years, retiring in 1955. He was a member of St. John's RC Church. His wife, the former Laura Frances Bauman, died in 1957.

    He is survived by one son, Edward of Kitchener, one daughter, Mrs. Alvin (Catherine) Walz of Kitchener; one sister, Mrs. Jack Shoemaker of Kitchener, and one grandson.

    The body will be at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home after noon Saturday where the rosary will be recited Sunday at 8 p.m. Prayers will be said at the funeral home Monday at 8: 30 a.m. followed by requiem mass at St. John's Church at 9 a.m. Rev. William F. Gleason will officiate. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery.

    Suffering a relapse after an illness of three weeks, Stanley Lemanski, 61, of 181 Victoria Street South, died last evening n St. Mary's Hospital. He was born in Germany but had lived here for 14 years. He was a member of Sacred Heart RC Church.

    Besides his wife Mr. Lemanski is survived by three sons, Albert and George of Kitchener and Anthony of Waterloo, six daughters, Mrs. John Powell, Mrs. Paul Lawrence, Mrs. Jeffrey McGuire, Mrs. Walter Lankowski and Misses Edith and Rose all of Kitchener, his mother, Mrs. Eva Lemanski of Kitchener, two sisters, Mrs. Frank Bolltaky and Mrs. Lawrence Simon, both of Kitchener and six grandchildren.

    The funeral will be held at nine o'clock Monday morning from his late residence, 183 Victoria Street South, to Sacred Heart Church. Interment will take place in Mont Hope RC Cemetery.

    Born Nov. 30, 1879, a daughter of the late Ignatz Lemanski and Eva Bialkowski, she moved to the Twin Cities as a child.

    She was a member of St. Anne's RC Church.

    Her husband, Frank Bilitzki, died in 1952.

    Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Thomas (Edith) Gregg, RR 3, Kitchener; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Three daughters predeceased her.

    The body is at the Gruhn funeral Home where the rosary will be recited Wednesday at 8: 15 pm. Mass will be solemnized at St. Anne's church Thursday at 9 am and burial will be in Mount Hope RC Cemetery. Prayers will be recited at the funeral home Thursday at 8: 30 am.

    She was born in Kitchener, Sept. 22, 1895, a daughter of the late John White and Mrs. Rose White of Kitchener. She married Peter Truman Wideman in 1913 in Kitchener.
    She was a member of St. John's RC Church and a member of the Catholic Women's League and Confraternity of the Holy Family.
    Surviving besides her husband and mother are one son, Richard, of Waterloo; two daughters, Miss Margaret Wideman and Mrs. James (Dorothy) Harlock of Kitchener; one brother, Jerome of Kitchener and one sister, Mrs. Benjamin Kowalsky of Preston.
    Four grandchildren also survive.
    She was predeceased by one son, Harold John Wideman in 1946.
    The body is at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home until Thursday at 8:30 a.m., when removal will be made to St. John's Church for requiem high mass at 9 a.m. Rev. William F. Gleason will officiate. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery.

    WHITE, Sister Leon SSND (Magdalene) - A School Sister of Notre Dame, died at Notre Dame Convent, Waterdown, Ontario, on November 2, 2001, in the 68th year of her religious profession. She is predeceased by her parents, Leon White of Kitchener, Ont. and Mary (nee Schneider) of Alsace Lorraine, as well as her one brother and six sisters. Left to mourn is her brother-in-law, Jack Read of Ayr, Ont., as well as many loving and devoted nieces and nephews. Sister's teaching career spanned every level from elementary to university. She began with elementary experience in Cambridge (Preston), moved to secondary in Welland and Waterdown where she also served as principal and finished at the university level at St. Jerome's College, Waterloo. Upon retirement in 1980 Sister was asked to assume community leadership in the Motherhouse, Waterdown. When this term of office was completed Sister moved to Peckham-Rye, England where she became involved in pastoral ministry as well as taking on the responsibilities of homemaker. When she returned to Canada in 1985 Sister served as visitor to the sick, elderly and infirm, both in Kitchener and St. Catharines, Ontario. Failing health caused her retirement to the Villa in Waterdown in 1986. Here she lived out her life in prayerful suffering and sacrifice. Visitation on Sunday, Nov. 4 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Notre Dame Convent, 1921 Snake Rd., Waterdown, Ont. Wake service on Sunday, Nov. 4 at 3 pm. Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, Nov. 5, 2001 at 10: 30 am at the Notre Dame Convent, Waterdown, Ont.

Born Aug. 28, 1917, in Preston, he was a member of St. John's' RC Church. Surviving are his parents. Mr. and Mrs. John Shoemaker of Kitchener, his wife, the former Dorothy Connors; five brothers, Norman, Donald, Yale, Ronald and Gerard, all of Kitchener; four sisters, Mrs. Clayton (Gladys) Litzgus of Waterloo, Mrs. Clarence (Dorothy) Lehman, Mrs. John (June) Nolan and Miss Helen Shoemaker, all of Kitchener. The body is at the Gruhn Funeral Home until 8: 30 a m. Monday when removal will be made to St. John's RC Church for requiem high Mass at 9 a.m. Rev. W. F.     A memorial mass will be held at Sacred Heart RC Church on Friday at 10 a.m. Cremation has taken place.
