    GROMEDER, Amelia (Mrs. John) -Suddenly, on Monday, Dec. 28, 1992, at her home, in Elmira, Amelia (Seibert) Gromeder, in her 88th year. Beloved wife of the late John Gromeder (1947). Dear mother of George and his wife Leona of St. Jacobs, John and his wife Mary of Elmira. Fondly remembered by her grandchildren, Denise and Derrick Shantz, David and Robin Gromeder, Darryl and Susan Gromeder, Linda and Laura Gromeder and great-grandchildren, Ashley, Stacey, Bethany, Timothy, Christopher and Sarah. Sister of Edward Seibert and his wife Mabel of Palmerston. Predeceased by three sisters. Visitation at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira, where the family will receive friends today (Wednesday) from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. At 11am on Thursday, transfer will be made to St. James Lutheran Church, Elmira for funeral service at 1 p.m., with Rev. Donald Stroh officiating, followed by interment in St. James Lutheran cemetery.

    Gromeder, George Henry ~ Peacefully passed away at Grand River Hospital Freeport Site on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 in his 84th year, of St. Jacobs. He was the beloved husband of the late Leona Gromeder (Gilles) (2008). Loving father of Denise and Derrick Shantz of Heidelberg, Dave and Robyn Gromeder of St. Jacobs, and Darryl and Sue Gromeder of New Hamburg. Proud grandpa of Ashley Foerster (Mark), Stacey and Shelley Shantz, Beth Harris (Neil), Tim and Krista Gromeder, and Chris and Sarah Gromeder. Loving great-grandpa (GG) to Zachary Harris. Remembered by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Henry and Marjorie Gilles, Roy and Marlene Gilles, and Mary Gromeder, and nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents John (1948) and Amelia (Siebert) (1992) and his brother John (2014). George was employed with Burns Meats for 32 years and Home Hardware for 12 years. He was a longtime, active and faithful member of St. James Lutheran Church, St. Jacobs, where he spent many years looking after the care of the outside of the church and inside maintenance. Visitation for family and friends will take place on Friday, January 2, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Dreisinger Funeral Home, 60 Arthur St. S., Elmira. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2014 at 11 a.m. at St. James Lutheran Church, 1407 King St. N., St. Jacobs. Interment will follow at St. James Lutheran Cemetery, St. Jacobs. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to St. James Lutheran Church Endowment Fund or Grand River Regional Cancer Centre.
