BRETHOUR, Kathryn Lydia - At Cambridge Memorial Hospital, on Monday, January 1, 2007, in her 72 year. Beloved wife of the late Orvin John Brethour and dear mother of Susan Bowman and husband Harold Jr.; Sandra Homeniuk and Jim Luckett; Vivian Marcy and Rob Rond and Bruce Brethour and wife Cherish. She leaves nine grandchildren, Jason, Jennifer, Karen, Christine, Tommy, Amanda, Danny, Justin and Blain. Also surviving are six great-grandchildren. Dear sister to Erma and Bruce Findlater of Ayr, Shirley and Edward Cromwell of Glencoe, Lorne and Lynn Thomas of Appen and Grace Dick of Cambridge. She was predeceased by her parents, Ralph and Gladys Thomas; her son-in-law, Wolfgang Vidovitsch and a grandson, Harry Jr. Homeniuk. Resting at the Corbett Funeral Home, 95 Dundas Street, Cambridge where the family will receive friends on Friday 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service to take place at the funeral home chapel on Saturday, January 6, 2007 at 11 a m. Cremation to follow. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Cambridge Memorial Hospital Medical Daycare would be appreciated by the family. Luncheon to be held at the Preston Legion Branch No. 226 following the service.

Findlater
One of Ayr's top female athletes, Margaret Jean (Peggy) Findlater, was killed in a single vehicle crash late Sunday afternoon. Her eastbound vehicle left the Ayr-Drumbo Road, near Peacehaven Scout Camp and rolled over. A daughter of Bruce Findlater and the former Erma Thomas of Water Street, Ayr, she was in her 22nd year. Miss Findlater was born in Cambridge, attended Ayr Public, C. Cornwell Senior Public and Southwood Secondary Schools. She was employed on the Ray Dedman dairy farm, RR 1, New Dundee. Peggy was a fine softball pitcher and had played her minor ball in Ayr. This year she was a member of the Drumbo Ladies Softball Team and the Paris William Street Blues. She also played for the Ayr Rockettes ladies hockey team. Besides her parents she is survived by a sister Cindy and brother Bob at home. Resting at the Wm. Kipp Funeral Home, Paris, this afternoon and evening (Wednesday), where funeral service will be held Thursday at 1: 30 p.m. Interment in Ayr Cemetery.
