Tulane Gardens was bought in 1948 and enlarged into Rosslyn Grove by Ross Bullas, the Kitchener furniture retailer. A "better known night spot" noted for catering banquets such as the centennial of Waterloo Township in early 1950 and for its dance bands, it was closed in 1963 following a series of raids by Waterloo Township police (KWR 7 November 1963). It was destroyed by fire in April 1964, with loss estimated at $150,000 (KWR 29 April 1964).
