    Otto Henry Seifert

    GALT, Otto Henry Seifert, 6 Stanley St., Galt, died today, at South Waterloo Hospital. He was 74. Mr. Seifert was born in Fordwich. He had resided in Galt for 40 years. He had been employed at Sheldon's Engineering Ltd., for over 20 years before retiring in 1962. He later worked for the Ontario Motor League, Kitchener, as a salesman. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and was active in many of the church organizations. He was a 50-year member of Fordwich Masonic Lodge and affiliated with Alma Lodge No. 72 A.F. and A.M. Surviving are his wife, the former Frances Baker; two daughters, Mrs. Hubert (Dorothy) Butler of St. Catharines, Mrs. Robert (Margaret) Dykeman of Preston; one sister, Mrs. Herman Speers of Toronto and five grandchildren. The body is at Coutts and Son Funeral Home, where funeral and committal service will be conducted, Sunday, at 2 p.m. Interment will be in Mount View cemetery.

    Dorothy Butler - Butler, Dorothy Marie (nee Siefert) - Dorothy passed away peacefully after a long and courageous battle with cancer, on Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at the K-W Health Centre of Grand River Hospital at the age of 78 with her loved ones by her side. Beloved wife of the late Hubert Butler (1970). Loving mother of Nancy and her husband Randy Romanoff of St. Catharines, Wayne and his wife Brenda of Cambridge and Debbie and her husband Bill Demers of Burlington. Cherished grandmother of Christopher, Craig (Allison), Darrin, Wayne Jr. (Patricia), Jennifer, Ryan, Andrew and Rachel. Great-grandmother of Ethan, Hope, Dylan and Dorothy Marie. Special niece of Ruth Baker of Kitchener. Dear sister-in-law of Bob Dykeman of Wasaga Beach and aunt of Rob, John and Jason. Predeceased by her parents Otto and Francis Siefert and her sister Margaret Dykeman. Dorothy's kind heart and positive attitude will be greatly missed by her many special friends. Dorothy was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church and was a member of Friendship Circle. She retired in 1989 after 15 years from Canadian Tire, Grantham Plaza, St. Catharines. Special thanks to Pastor Nancy Kelly, Dr. Janet MacEachern, Dr. Thomas Hupel and Dr. Ted Erb for their compassion and support. Dorothy's family will receive friends and relatives on Thursday from 2-4PM and 7-9PM and on Friday from 10-10: 45AM at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener, (519) 749-8467. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Friday, February 5, 2010 at 11AM. Officiated by Pastor Nancy Kelly. A reception will follow. Interment Victoria Lawn Cemetery, St. Catharines immediately following the reception. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the St. Mark's Lutheran Memorial Fund or the Grand River Regional Cancer Centre (Multiple Myeloma) would be appreciated by Dorothy's family (cards are available at the funeral home).
