DONALD FARQUHARSON

An old and highly respected resident of Galt, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 24th, at 3: 45 a. m., in the person of Donald Farquharson, at the advanced age of 80 years. Deceased was born in Glasgow, Scotland and came to Canada in 1850, settling in Galt. For four years he worked in the old paper mill run by Mr. Forbes, then worked for Messrs. Lutz, Cook & Co., new Messrs. Cowan & Co., until about ten years ago, when he retired from active work. He was an honest straightforward man and respected by every one who knew him. He leaves a widow to mourn the loss of a kind husband. He had but one son, who died 24 years ago. The funeral took place from his late residence, on Rose St., on Tuesday, at 2 o'clock and the remains were followed to their last resting place in Mount View Cemetery, by a large number of friends.
