MELVIN E. SIMPSON
Melvin E. Simpson, 36, 44 Glasgow Street, office manager of Westside Dairy, died last night at the K-W Hospital after a brief illness. He was born in Waterloo in 1906, a son of Mrs. Mary Ann Simpson and the late John Simpson. He was married eight years ago to Olivia Behling. Mr. Simpson was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Waterloo.
Surviving are his wife, his mother, one daughter, Marianne, aged four, two brothers, Howard, overseas with the R.C.A.F. and Wilfred of Waterloo, and one sister, Mildred Simpson of Waterloo.
Funeral will be held Saturday afternoon at three o'clock at the Ratz-Bechtel Funeral Home with interment in Mount Hope Cemetery, Waterloo, Rev. C. S. Roberts will officiate. Remains are resting at the funeral home.

Born in Waterloo, he was a son of Mrs. John (Mary Ann) Simpson of Wellesley and the late Mr. Simpson. He was a member of the Waterloo fire department for many years and then worked at the former Westside Dairy Ltd. In later years he worked part-time for the Waterloo County Works Department.
Surviving besides his mother are his wife, the former Rita Bauman; two sons, Gary, a corporal posted at Canadian Forces Base, Rockcliffe, and Paul at home; a daughter, Mrs. William (Joan) Drysdale of Rothsay, N.B.; a brother Howard of Erbsville; a sister, Mrs. Lorne (Mildred) Ruby of Wellesley, and seven grandchildren.
Besides his father, he was predeceased by a brother, Melvin.
The body will be at the Edward R. Good Funeral Home after noon Saturday where Rev. Arthur Horst of St. Paul's Lutheran church, Erbsville, will conduct a service Monday at 2 pm. Burial will be in the Erbsville Lutheran Cemetery.

SIMPSON, Howard - Peacefully on Friday, December 7, 2007, at St. Mary's Hospital, Howard Simpson of Erbsville. Husband of Mildred (Melitzer) Simpson for 65 years. Survived by three sons, Philip and Valerie Simpson, Gregory Simpson, Craig and Brenda Simpson and by one daughter, Glenda Simpson. Four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter also survive. Brother of Mildred Ruby. Howard was employed at Seagrams, Waterloo for many years. He served overseas in the Second World War with the RCAF. At Howard's request, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Interment St. Pauls Lutheran Cemetery, Erbsville. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. Arrangements entrusted to the Dreisinger Funeral Home, Elmira.

SIMPSON, Philip Howard Peacefully after an ironhorse battle with mesothelioma at the Cambridge Memorial Hospital on Saturday, May 1, 2010. Philip Simpson of St. George, formerly of Erbsville, is survived and deeply missed by his wife and lifelong dance partner Valerie (nee White), son John Simpson, PhD, daughter Kate, mother Mildred Simpson, sister Glenda Simpson and brothers Craig (Brenda) and Gregory Simpson. Predeceased by his father Howard Simpson (2007). Longtime employee at University of Waterloo and devoted to planes, trains, automobiles and all things mischievous. Cremation has taken place. At Philip's request there will be no visitation or funeral. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
