    RAPPOLT, John Kenneth

    Peacefully, in his 89th year. Beloved husband of Jean Smith (Muma). Predeceased by his first wife, Beth (Elizabeth Culham). He is survived by his children, Gail of Hamilton, Paul and his wife Giselle and their son Matthew of Fergus, Bob and his son Rob of North Bay, Susan and her husband Nick Stitt and their children, Adriana and Colin of Toronto, Marguerite and her husband Kevin Costante and their daughters, Emma and Alicia of Toronto and Peter of Cambridge. He is also survived by his step-children, Ron and Patti Smith of Cambridge, Judy and Peter Crawford of Sheffield and Beverly and Bill Brown of Glen Morris; seven step-grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his infant son, William; a sister, Marguerite and her husband Ross Watson of Hamilton and a sister, Grace and her husband Dr. Harold Orr of Ridgetown. John farmed near Cambridge and lived on his farm home for 83 years. He will be remembered for his dedication to his family and community. As a young man John served on Beverly Township Council and later on North Dumfries Township Council. He was a faithful member and elder of Sheffield United Church. John was committed to the life of the community always the first to be there when someone needed help, He loved the land and was never happier than when he was gardening. He was a welcome visiter in many homes in the Cambridge area were he delivered Meals on Wheels for many years. He will be greatly missed by the community and his wife Jean and all his family. Visitation will be at Little's Funeral Home, 223 Main St. E., Cambridge, on Tuesday, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A private family service will be held at the funeral home, followed by interment in Mount View Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at Sheffield United Church on Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2003 at 2: 30 p.m.
