ROBBINS, Raymond Wilson
Promoted to Glory from Brampton Civic Hospital, on Tuesday, March 4, 2014, in his 90th year. He is survived by his wife, Joyce, and his children; Ray (Marion), Gideon (Avora), Joan (Glen), Renee (Barry), Dave, Eva (John), Grace (Alan) and Gerry (Barbara), 25 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his brother, Clarence (Joan) and his sister, Ruby, sister-in-law, Margaret, brothers-in-law, Don (Jean), Walter (Cettina), sisters, Daisy (Seymour), Hazel (Frank) and special niece, Debra (Brian) and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Nellie Crews (2000), his brothers, Harold and Fred and sisters Edna, Dorothy, Lillian, and Neta. Ray was a longtime employee at Canadian General Tower Ltd. following his move with his family to Galt in 1966, following the closing of the iron ore mines on Bell Island, Newfoundland. He served in The Salvation Army Band for 73 years as well as serving in other ministries of The Salvation Army. Visitation will take place at Corbett Funeral Home, 95 Dundas Street N., Cambridge, Ontario, on Friday, March 7, 2014, from 7-9 p.m. Celebration of Life will take place at The Salvation Army Cambridge Citadel Corps, 16 Shade Street, Cambridge, Ontario, on Saturday, March 8, 2014, at 2:00 p.m., with visitation one hour prior to the service.
